There were some serious issues with this game. First and foremost it seems the devs said "hey, lets copy & paste everything from the previous game, but instead of doing another traditional fighting game, lets do it POWER STONE style"
That said, the game isn't so bad, so long as you approach it with the same mentality that you'd have approached POWER STONE 2 back then.
The price and being digital only in the Americas was also a terrible choice. This game probably would've gotten far better sales out of impulse buys alone if they had released it on disc. But no, it's a $60 digital game which only the most hardcore of JOJO fans (most of which prob already bought the JPN copy) would consider buying it.
So the game is probably barely selling, the online is DOA as a result of that as well as BAMCO continuing to region-lock online play. A total disaster. But I bet the next time they decide not to bring something overseas, they're gonna mention that it's due to lack of player interest. Go figure.
@Khasym: That's highly doubtful. I mean, at the very least they have the people who maintainted TPP and MGO after Kojima left. They also have the people who made the cinematics for the pachinko machine.
Truthfully people really have no clue about what's truly going on at KONAMI. Everything are just assumptions.
@Xristophoros: Like KONAMI has ever cared, or will ever care about enraged internet fanboys. There's like dozes of examples already. So good luck with that.
It looks like an extention of MGO. It looks crazy and intriguing, hopefully it will be fun. So long as they aren't outsourcing it and is being developed within KONAMI it has hope.
Anyway, I'm glad they're back on board with videogames. Now I can hope for a new OTOMEDIUS.
I don't know why sites always insist on calling Inafune the "Father of Mega Man" in most every single article about him.
He was the characer designer. Yes, he designed the characters, but didn't create the gameplay concept the series is known for. He never designed or developed the games themselves.
You might as well call Akira Toriyama the father of DRAGON QUEST.
