Good rant right here

Today, Marshall goes to #15 Tennessee to play. Ill be honest, things dont look good for the boys in Green, but im watching it anyways, mark of a true fan.You kno waht i hate? Fake Fans. There everywhere, u may even be one and not know it. Fake Fans are the ppl who decide to jump on the bandwagon of whoever is winning at the moment. Take the Steelers, half the people who have Roethlisburger jeresys or Ward jeresy or Polomalu (however cool his name may be) dont watch there games, couldnt tell u more than about 5 of there players, might not even kno the coaches name (Bill Cowher). May i ask where were these "fans" before Roethlisberger came? they were probubly Patriot Fans, or Cowboy fans before that, whoever won a superbowl lately, or maybe a Colts fan, cause god forbid there be a NFL commerical without him in it, maybe his little brother Eli tagging along. Just as bad, if not worse around here are damn fake WVU fans. It might just be cause im in WV but i mean damn people do you people even kno anyhting about them besides there ranked #4? Hell i kno more than half of these people and i dont even like WVU, Marshall all the way. But what reallllllly makes me mad are the Fake and Obnoxious WVU fans, who trash Marshall all the time with absolutely no backing. Look at the NFL my friends, who has 2 starting QBs, one the number 3 passer in the league, Who has 5 active WRs, 1 of them who has become a household NFL name (Randy Moss)? MARSHALL DOES. Who has a bunch of washed up players who use to be good, and the only one whos in the news anymore is just brought up when hes arrested every other week? WVU DOES. I rest my case.

On another note, im now level 19, Gitaroo Man......im not gonna ask

Best Week Ever (for football)

This week in Will Vances football world, Marshall won 54-31, the Jets won 23-16 and the Jaguars won 24-17. Marshall, bouncing back from a loss last week at WVU had an exeptional day. RB Ahmad Bradshaw ran for 152 yards and 4 touchdowns, QB Bernie Morris ran for 151 yards and was 20-27 passing for 153 yards and WR Emmanuel Spann had 10 catches for 97 yards. In addition to that Marshall held Hofstra to -5 rushing yards, although we gave up over 200 yards passing. Next week Marshall plays at Kansas State, who we got a bit of a rivalry with. In 2003 we went there and beat them 26-20 when they were ranked #6 in the country, then last year we blew it and they beat us 21-19.

Like I had said, Pennington came back big in his reguler season Comeback, getting 319 yards in the air, the most in week 1, beating the Titans 23-16. Although the rushing game wasnt overly impressive, I still thik this team is able to win the Division, if not get Wildcard.

After a dissapointing playoff game last year and questions in the off season, Leftwich came through with 23-34 for 237 yards. The Jaguar defense looked like they were in slow mo, getting run over letting Dallas get 10 points in there first 2 drives. But after that the game was all Jacksonville. Fred Taylor had 74 yards rushing and Matt Jones had 5 catches for 71 yards. Owens got a touchdown late in the 4th, making the games final score 24-17.

So overall, my favorite teams went 3-0, my favorite QBs shined, combining for 556 passing yards, Marshall had its first game ever with 2 150+ rushers, and in additon i got my first High School tackle thursday, so thats another high point. Ill have more for you next week, c yall

Marshall Game 2: Hofstra

I kno the one or two people who actually read this are DYING to kno about marshalls next opponent, Hofstra, but um....so would I. I kno nothing about the division I-AA school but that there one of the better I-AAs. Marshalls coach, who use to coach I-AA says that when he played them then they were always good, more skilled on offense though.

Marshalls preformance aginst WVU literally broke my heart, and i dont see us losing this week. Coach Snyder has no doubt givin the Herd some talking to, especially about the 30 tackles they missed. Marshall also has one of its big assets back, WR Hiram Moore, who was suspended from last game, is back this week. Moore is a Huntington Native who was second on the team in recieving yards last year.

Im goin to the game tomorrow, so ill be able to give a good review of it GO HERD!!!

The Big Game part 1, Marshall

Now this might not seem like a big deal to most of you, but it is to us West Virginians. WVU and Marshall are the states 2 Division 1 teams and havnt played since 97. The fans ahve talked smack to each other for years without any backing and now its our chance.

Marshall Marshall has put several high profile players in the NFL, Including Randy Moss and Chad Pennington, but as late weve been looking for another. After a 4-7 season last year, our first losing season in over 20 years, second-year coach Mark Snyder looks to bring the Thundering Herd back to our Championship form of old. Number 1 on the to do list is solidify the QB position. Last season 2 QBs, Bernie Morris and Jimmy Skinner split time, but nither did outstanding jobs, each getting about 1100 yards. Morris, a junior, has been picked for starter this season after having really worked hard in the offseason, especially working on his accuracy and settling down in the pocket, last year having a tendency to want to run more than pass. Behind Morris is Seniors Skinner and Devine, who may beat our Skinner for the 2nd position, and freshman Wes Beardain and John Anderson, both belived to be the real deal. The star of the offense though is runningback Ahmad Bradshaw, who has become the face of the team. He lead the team in rushing yards as well as receptions. Although he only had 997 rushing yards last year, This season should be a breakout for the All-Conference player. His backup, Chubb Small, played well as a true freshman last year and was a excellent kick returner, taking one into the endzone. The backs run behind a solid line, lead by All American canidate center Doug Legursky. The recievers whre good last year, even though they lacked the "X" deep threat reciever. Hiram Moore lead them in yards with 630 yards last year. They also have Emanuel Spann, Marcus Fitzgerald (brother of NFL player Larry Fitzgerald), Matt Morris and Shawn Lauzon, although Lauzon is out for the season.

Marshalls Defense is a little more sure than the Offense. The line is more about speed than size, with Albert McClellen and Juan Underwood leading them. Linebackers Matt Couch and Dennis Thorton are tough, Thorton spending some time at Corner. The secondary is a lil more shaky, losing 3 seniors last year, However the returning back is a keeper, All american canidate Strong Safety Curtis Keyes. Corners include J. J. Johnson, one of Georgias top prospects, C.J. Spillman and Terick Thomas, though none have much experience. Free Safety Geremy Rodamer is good. Marshalls Kicking last year was the butt of jokes, kicker Ian O'Conner making only 53.8 percent. Anthony Binswanger should help as O'conner tries at Punting. The current Punter, Marty Biagi, is excellent, giving up only 1 touchback last year.

Bottom line, Marshall should definatly do better this year, probubly a 7-5 or 8-4 season, Despite playing tough teams like WVU, Tennessee, Kansas State and UCF, Marshalls use to playing big names. As for WVU, I expect a grind-it-out game that will be close, ill have a WVU overlook in a couple days.

Colts-Seahawks

Colts vs Seahawks, 8:00 pm, ET on NBC

Seahawks: The Seattle Seahawks are comming off a super bowl season, going 13-3 in the regular season. A large part of there sucsess was Shaun Alexander, there league MVP runningback who broke the single season touchdown record and had over 1,880 yards. Alexander was sensational last season and should have another this season despite securing a big contract extension. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck had a breakthrough season last year and led the NFC in passing yards. He is a good on feild commander and knows the offense well. The reciever corp is dangerous, with Jackson, Engram, and recently signed Nate Burrelson from the Vikings. Offensive line is strong and does well in run blocking. Although unsure at the start of last season, the Defensive line proved itself a solid unit last season. The linebackers are lead by Lofa Tatupu, who went to the Pro-bowl as a Rookie. Although they lost Andre Dyson, the Seahawk Secondary is still strong. Bottom like, the Seahawks are still SuperBowl Caliber.

The Indianapolis Colts lost alot of players durring the offseason, including RB Edgerrin James, kicker Mike Vanderjagt and LB Dennis Thorton, but still insist there still a premire team, and this is agreed with by most people. The main Basis of this is Peyton Manning, widly believed to be the best QB in the game. Although hes lead the Colts far is previous years, hes never taken them all the way and this is a big factor this year. with the loss of James, the RB spot is shaky at best, with no clear starter. The recievers are solid lead by Marvin Harrison. The Offensive Line is strong and not many leaks. The defensive line lost 2 ends but are still strong, lead by Dwight Freeney. The linebackers are stong, if not great and theyve lost one of the better ones in Thorton. Defensive Backs are good with hard hitting safetys and solid Corners. Although they lost Vanderjagt, they obtained Vinateri from the Patriots, wether this is a trade up or down is up to you, but i believe it is just trading accuracy for clutch-kicking. Bottom line is the Colts might get to the big game, but losing so much during the offseason might make it harder.

This is a pre-season game and doesnt reflect much on the reguler season, but I say Seattle may have the edge on the bench, but its a close call.

Jets - Bucs,

Jets - Bucs 7:30 tonight

There has been alot of talk lately about who will be starting QB for the Jets. Last seasons start Chad Pennington tore his rotator cuff for the second time and was sidelined for the rest of the season and Brooks Bollinger stepped in, performing inspirationally if not perfectly, the Jets ending the season 4-12. The Jets traded for Patrick Ramsey, who had lost some of his skill, and second round drafted Kellen Clemens. Out of the 4, im putting my bet on Pennington, who has outpreformed the competition in practice and reconvered from shoulder injury. he has the most experience, plus as a starter he is 15-6 with a passer rating of 102.9 when feeling no pain. He also went to my favorite school so. Curtis Martin will be starting for his ninth season at Runningback, but may be running out of steam at 33. The Jets recievers arnt the fastest group but are still exceptable. Although they lost Pro Bowler Santana Moss, they have Laverneus Coles, who lead the team with 845 yards last season, Justin McCareins, who needs to bounce back from a slump year, Jerrico Cotchery isnt used to his potential. They also add ex-patriot Tim Dwight and Brad Smith. TEs Chris Baker and Doug Jolley rnt bad bout could be better. The Jets O-line should be good, using there first 2 draft picks on linemen. Although they lost John Abraham, the Jets D-line is solid, adding Kimo von Oelhoffen from the Steelers. Linebackers look good, with MLB Johnathen Vilma leading the NFL in tackles last season and strong play from Hobson and Barton. The Jets traded Superbowl CBs, Ty Law for Andre Dyson and have pretty good Safetys.. The Jets special teams are solid.

As for the Buccaneers, Simms is the starting QB, starting 10 games last season for an 81.4 passer rating, and has pretty solid depth behind him. RB Cadillac Williams ran away with Rookie of the year last season and should be explosive this season, and Fullbacks Mike Alstott and Jerald Sowell are solid. The Bucs recievers are somewhat lacking, If Clayton bounces back and Galloway does a repeat preformance, theyll do alright. The offensive line is good and should give Williams some room to run. DE Simeon Rice came in 3rd in the NFL in sacks with 14 and should slow down. The Linebackers are lead by Derrick Brooks, a major playmaker, even though hes gettin up in years. Both Buccaneer CBs are in there 30s, but one of them is Pro Bowler Ronde Barber.

Overall, The Jets should win this in my book, Despite the bucs solid defense.

My NFL predictions

Im pretty well versed in football and i see the NFL season unfolding a so: In the AFC, the Super Bowl brawl wil be brutal, New England will in the East, but after being hard pressed by a strengthening Miami and a revamped Jets with Pennington back at its helm. Pittsburg will win the North, with second place in Cincinatti, possibly getting wildcard. Indy will win the South and Jacksonville will get another Wild card. Denver will win the West with San Diego may be a wildcard.

In the NFC, The East is to close to call, with atleast one wildcard in it. Chicago will cruise through the North easily getting its spot in the playoffs. Carolina will take the South, with Atlanta possibly taking a wildcard. Seattle will win the West, but looking at the super bowl losers curse, they may not get to the game again, atleast not this year.

Football Season Finally!!!

Football season finally got under way last night with the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, the Raiders beat the Eagles 16-10. The game had an aweful lotta 3 n outs and Turnovers, but thats to be expexted in a Preseason. Ive been thinkin and i think im gnna do some pregame commentary on all of Marshalls NCAA games and NFL games that interest me, ive got a banner in the works n everything and i think i have enough football expertise to give good ones.Ill probubly just do the Jets, Jags, Patriots and Raiders mostly, seeing as how there my favorites. The Marshall ones will be better, cause i Bleed Green and white.

30th game review, now u have to read them all AND VANILLA FROSTYS!!!

yea, i broke the 30 mark in game reviews. I reckon im pretty good, cause i have a lot of recommendations n whatnot. Number 30 was on NFL Street, and i have a couple games lined up that i need a lil more play time before i review Like GTA Vice City and ESPN NBA 2K5 (thats alot of abbrev.) O and get this, THERE IS A VANILLA FROSTY!!! I kno i kno, its amazing, i had one today and there real good, i recomment them. I mean its a vanilla soquid what else is there? granted it was a lil more liquid than the....chocolate.....ones, i guess tahts the flavor, that or original. But still, pretty darn good

Stuff u wanna kno, with alotta ranting

Wassup. First, i went to california with my friend when he was visitin his mom. It turns out california is an overall angry place, in a week i went to places like Raging Waters, Roaring Camp, rode the Loggers Revenge (what did i do to said logger?) and several people just looked generally disgruntled. His stepdad let me have his old compy, but its a lot newer than mine. However, im still using the old one cause Verizon cant get us our Internet stuff in anything less than a week. I mean they have a friggin 10 story building in the city and they cant give us some wires or whatever it is? I bet there hoarding the Internet, IM ONTO YOU VERIZON!!! When we got back, I expanded my game collection by adding Vicy City, NFL Street and NBA 2K6. Hey, how messed up is the Vice City Police? I mean u can slice heads of pedestrians and kill like 10 hookers, but god forbit u hit one of there cars, cause they will hunt ur a** down and kill you with much prejudice, but then they let u out n a couple hours, just to beat u down again a couple hours later. Why dont they just like join forces with u in some kinda....thing, i dunno. Streets good but in ther attepts to gangstafy all the players they went to a bit of extremes. I mean like Randy Moss and Chad Johnson and ppl can do it easy, but Peyton Manning or Tom Brady? Its not 2 pretty, but a good game nethertheless. Ic ant give a report on 2K6, cause the friggin disk is so messed up you cant get through a game without it freezing, curse you Gamestop used games. Finally, Im gettin a lil puppy, a 6 week old girl border collie, were namin her Brady. Well thats about it for now, carry on.
