wow, thats 10X more than 360's.

I'm sure if they tried hard someone could post an equally meaningless and unimpressive list for the 360.
Heck who needs gaming anymore when excel can be this much fun.
Vista is in a whole different league when it comes to system hogging. I have 2 gigs of RAM and I've never seen my useage meter drop below 40% while running Vista.
As for in-game XMB it has more to do with Sony implementing it than any RAM problems. Thats my understanding anyway.

With you on the whole Vista thing, but it is only complicated for SOny to implement it because of the amount of system resources the operating system needs to run. Having it run in the background while a game is running (like the 360 does) hampers the system too much.
I also have a feeling it will mean that when XMB is eventually accessable from within a game Sony will not be able to back date it to older titles.
Yeah, in order for me to feel like mine and other's time spent on these forums is worthwhile I have to live in my little world where what I say on these forums is more than just the worthless opinion of some random gamer. Thanks for breaking my illusion:Pespoac
Apologies.:P

From what i've read over time. The PS3 OS when it launched took 90MB of ram, then someone on SW set me straight with a link don't know if it was the truth or not but after one of the updates the OS only took 50mb of ram.

I believe the 360s takes in the region of 4mb.
