@Smokescreened84 @SV650Sftw To be blunt people that actually play action games are mostly males. The people designing games are mostly guys. How many women do you see buying the new AAA first person shooter/action/adventure game? It makes sense that the lead character is usually a male because lets be honest, the gaming community is mostly males outside of RPG/Indie/Casual. So the games are tailored towards the target audience. Which means more profit.

Devs aren't going to start adding some of the requests mentioned until there is more women playing/buying games in the action/adventure genre. Otherwise they are wasting their time and pandoring to critisicm from people who don't even buy their product.

Assassin's Creed 3 has a new DLC coming out with a female lead charcter. Borderlands 2 was mentioned bellow by another member. Saints Row allowed you to make the choice. Dead Island lets you make the choice.

Not trying to argue at this point. Aeon Flux mentioned that there isn't alot of action games that allow you to play as a female main character. So I tried listing a good bit and realised that their is only 4-10 decent games with female main characters that have been released in the past year or two.

My stand on the issue is stop bugging triple AAA story makers about which character they choose, anyway, and to just keep the option open in multiplayer for customization. But then again not everyone plays multi.

Does this article need to be written? The only solution that would make everyone happy, would be the style of character selection that Far Cry 2 had(Which was SHALLOW.) Take GTA IV. You can play as a female online(Same with.... all rockstar games??? you didn't mention that Ms. Petite), but only as Nico Bellic during the story mode.

I personaly don't like being forced into the character type of "whatever race rockstar decided fits the enviroment best" type of story telling. But if choosing Nico as the main charcter helped their story team write a better tale, then so be it. I could care less if GTA V makes me be a woman the whole story. I'd love to create my own charcter and choose gender every time. But then we'd be stuck with Oblivion/Skyrim story telling which is shallow when you think of how they react to your custimization("I used to be a hunter! Until my knee....." "Nord, we need you to go kill this dragon!"

I hope they keep it similar in gameplay to the previous ones, sounds like they are keeping the theme. The previous ones weren't the best shooters but they were awesome stealth games and the story over the whole series was cool even though it was far fetched. I'm glad they are trying to get more "New Orleans" similar levels, with alot of people in the streets and such. Makes it hard to handle a situation because you don't want it spilling outside.

I wouldn't go as far as saying women can't be taken seriously concerning game reviews, just that this reviewer can't be taken seriously when concerning game reviews. She gave L.A. Noire a 9.0(What???), SSX(No free roaming for a snowboard game? Play Amped 3, then review SSX) a 8.5, and this a 9.5(LOL).

I think a gamespot employee recently said that they are trying to review games more like the old days when xbox just came out, where a 8.0 was a great game and a 9.0 was a "must own" unless you hated the genre. Obviously that isn't happening. I clicked on this review because I haven't seen a PC game get a 9.5 in awhile and I proceeded to laugh so hard at the reviewer for the tenth time probably.

Yeah I am going to have to say that this will not due well as a console port, unless features are massivly reduced alongside map sizes. I'm not even as knowledgeable as you all, but any idiot can see that this game puts a stress on your rig towards the modern era. Hell I play ARMA alot on maps where thousands of flight path calculations for bullets/shrapnel/ or whatever are taking place at once, and my computer has never gotten above 70-75c. This game puts my average temperature up to 100c. And thats completley cleaned, new fan(Properly installed.), an extra auxillary fan, in a room with the AC at 70f, and about 30-40f outside. I honestly have never had heating problems until this game. Now I have heating problems up the ass.

If it excels in game load times and nothing else, then why is there no graph for load times?

I myself have never considered myself a game addict. I can kind of undersand how it would happen, but not really, I mainly just play when I have nothing better to do. Whenever someone calls to do something, or I get a hold of someone and ask them to hang out, then I drop whatever game I'm in and leave the house. I guees since I've only had my own expierences and seen my friends.... I just can't see how someone makes that jump to being addicted. I mean, playing you're favorite game is fun and all but it's always going to be there. I mean you could die tommarrow and you'd rather be inside grinding mobs or getting headshots and fooling you'reself into believing you've achieved something? Just can't see how someone does that.

I hope they made it so you dont run out of mobs to kill if you want. It was a little lame in the 1st where youd build up your nice city and then after a few waves of guys you have nothing left to kill and youre standing there like "Wow, i really just did all that and theres no minataurs to slaughter?"
