If Sony reduces the price on the PS3, maybe their market will get even bigger, but so far, I gotta go with the Xbox version if it doesn't get cheaper anytime soon.
There is always a issue with Steam, however, it looks like a firewall issue indeed, check your AV, if not, ensure that your router is in bridge mode; or you can just simply open the ports manually.
