You know, it hit me last week while driving around town on an errand... - I'm NOT gonna do this... at least not this year. Where to start? - $600 just for the (worthwhile) system, no games and only 1 controller, not to mention the insane lines and reservation boondoggle likely to ensue. Hmmm, let me see... there's Neverwinter Nights 2 coming out, not to mention Total War Medieval 2 and a number of other very interesting PC titles releasing in the next quarter that will run just fine, thank you, on my existing Opteron system with DDR memory. I'm growing tired of companies that over-promise and under-deliver. I have also decided to delay any purchase of HD DVD players until the dust settles and we know more about the formats and other info that frankly, is being swept aside for the moment in a fit of "Gee Wiz"-dom. No Thanks Sony- I'm not about to reward you guys for botching this one.
