contraceptives stop aids huh, then how come in Canada 70% of people use birth control as opposed to Afghanistan where less than 10% use birth control and Afghanistan has a lower AIDs rate(less than 0.1%), i saw that in my sociology book.also Islamic countries tend to have the lowest AIDs rates, not because of birth control but because they wait until marriage.whipassmt

You compare Afghanistan, a country were promiscuity is against the law, with Canada. Mhh could it be that is the reason that the AIDS rate is higher?

So why not compare Canada with the South-African Region (that should be the same dimension)?

South African Region: 32% of people with HIV globally live in this subregion and 34% of AIDS deaths globally occur there.

Canada is at 1 % ONE percent

By the way i don't think the pope or the catholic church is to blame totally for the rising AIDS rate in the world. Its an influence, but there is much more. I mean "sex is more fun without a condom" is a phrase that you hear often. (Its true, but I like my life, so kids do it save, LOL).
