This rings true. Having a deeper understanding and sense of the world can be more than a handful, and what's worse is that not many are able to understand this and be of help/support.
Hello there. :) Exactly right. It's lonely at the top. Smart people are always lonely, because not many people can relate to them. Intellectuals can relate to the remedials if they want to, it's just that it's devoid of any satisfaction, and therefore a waste of time.Being an intellectual doesn't mean one would be "at the top" per se. Not all smart people are always lonely either, but as humans they have they highs and lows too.
It's true that not as many are able to relate to them, and even other intellectuals have a hard time relating or understanding another intellectual, but that applies to everyone at one point or another. Deriving satisfaction is rooted in one's perspective and disposition in life, regardless of being an intellectual or not.
