Although I do agree that video game violence can cause repercussions, it is an entertainment demographic similar enough to movies to be given an R18 rating. Not necessarily because it will promote more violent games, but to allow complete flexibility and un-editting of games for our country specifically, and hopefully help our coutnry lose the image that its run by idiots.

I concur. It is a ludicrous system. Games are a media just like movies, so why can't they have their own R18 rating? If someone heard that GTA4 was going to be editted in Australia, they'd naturally want the full experience (thats why they bought a game like that in the first place for pete's sake. Its their choice). They can't experience the game as it was intended in Australia, but if they downloaded the US version they could. Thus censorship is shooting its comrades in the foot by enouraging file sharing to a huge extent. Stringent censorship like this is a mockery of the Australian government's intelligence.
A thousand techs don't lie. Its not like its bad to admit that Vista's not up to standards with XP yet. XP was a mess when it first came out too and we all said "I'll never upgrade to XP!" Eventually, once it'd been hotfixed enough and 2000 had become redundant we had to. Fortunately, XP had almost gotten up to scratch with its predecessor. I'm not saying the same thing will happen now, but just give Vista some time. XP's over 6 years old now. Its been hotfixed to death. Vista's relatively new in comparison. As we all know, no Microsoft product is perfect.
