If I'm not mistaken the last GTA game came out in March as well. March seems to be a big month for video game releases. Good thing my birthday is March 23rd :)
I think it's rather simple: -millions of people have a facebook (many of which aren't gamers) -games like Farmville are free, fun and convenient. Who with a facebook doesn't check it often? -plus these games don't require much at all to play (graphics cards, etc.) I don't believe this will have any effect on the consoles because it's completely separate. If you wanna play a cheap fun game, get a facebook app. or play solitaire or minesweeper. If you want a game with a plot. Play a videogame.
Only question is. I got internet at my house that loses connections randomly sometimes and comes back 20 seconds later. How much will that effect my gaming. Will it cut me off and have me revert to where I last saved? I can play it offline? Not really for people without internet. I'll stick with consoles. I like LANing.
