its just a dvd with extra layers on it. "red ray" is nothing new at all. all dvd players except Bluray use Red rays. The fact that bluray discs hold more is becuase the blue wavelength has a higher frequency, and therefore can read on a smaller location, as mentioned in the editorial. Bluray has been around for a while, they just had trouble making is backwards compatible. All I see this is a self-proclaimed technology. What I don't see is a reason why this isn't in mass production yet- Therefore there is a downside to this, but they aren't mentioning this. makes me suspicious to say the least, that and refering to a blue laser as 'inferior' to a red laser. not as reliable? maybe, sure (haven't heard any problems), but inferior? please

Edit: also, Bluray holds more per layers, and more layers can be added to a bluray disc as well, not to mention it has a higher bit-rate. I would put my eggs in their basket. Also, you would need a special player to read the VMD- its just saying you won't need to shell out the extra cash for a blue-ray player. quote "VMD Drives will be able to read other standard formats including CD and DVD." bluray are backwards compatible also.

I have difficulty comparing Oblivion to other WRPGs. Most of them, like Mass Effect, KoTOR, etc etc, have you following a plot. Those games are kind of like driving on in a sprint, where Oblivion is doing donuts. Your going nowhere, getting nothing done, a different kind of fun.

PS... I would equivalate morrowind to somwhere inbetween

I wouldn't say Forza, its very unforgiving. Maybe an arcade game such as PGR4 though

There's a lot of whinning little kids here, if you dont like the game dont play it, trolls think they can be smart, topic is a joke. great_rulo

Actually a troll is to cause controversy or arguments, not to dislike a game. There is nothing childish or troll-like about this topic. You'd be the troll here, bud. You are right though, trolls think they can be smart

I agree with all the arguments against Oblivion being a great RPG, its about as deep as a puddle. But that puddle is the size of lake superior. It's not story-driven, nor a typical RPG. its extremely player driven, where the player takes the control of HIS character, not a pre-defined one. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy story-driven RPGs, but I love Oblivion for letting me play a character I define. It's a good game, its pros outweigh the cons for me

Mine would be wow, otherwise Oblivion. I've put in over 600 hours since I got it. 3 files of every guild, main quest line, Isles, Knights o' 9, and a large portion of the world completley explored...and I still love it. I have a couple other incomplete characters too.

I don't have it yet either. I only buy video games when I'm bored of the last one I finished...Shooters aren't my favorite genre anyway.
