Happy...whatever

Man, sorry I haven't updated in a while (as if anyone really cared). I've actually been on the busy side these couple of weeks because a lot of deadlines for things I needed to turn in were all on Halloween. Go figure! Speaking of that, Happy belated Halloween! Man, I love this holiday. I think it is because I have such fond memories of dressing up and going trick-or-treating with the parents. And I'm still a little kid inside, so of course I found the time to get a costume together. I was Peter Pan! it was awesome. Did any of you all dress up?

Anyway, for everyone living here in the good ol' U.S. of A, isn't it crazy to think that in less than a week, we will find out who our next president will be? That's just nuts! I mean, this particular election has gotten so much media attention; whether that's a good or bad thing, I'm not completely sure. I guess it's positive since it's encouraging more (specifically younger people) to exercise their right to vote. I personally am more in favor of Obama. What do you guys think of the presidential election?

New Layout? Eh...

PieLove here! There's been a couple of changes around here, and I thought I'd blog about it.

I was aware, from a week ago, that a new TV.com layout was on it's way, and at first, I really thought I would not mind. But the minute I logged on here around Wednesday, I was bombarded with an unfamiliar and unwelcoming screen before me. I honestly do not really like this new layout! It's too bright, and reminds me of those irritating MySpace-type sites, which I despise. I mean, I miss the nice, dark blue layout of the past! But maybe I'm ranting. I mean, in a day or two, I'll probably get over it. But now I just feel like expressing my thoughts on this situation. How do you all feel about this? Like the new look? Don't like it? Don't care?

Anyways, I really feel like watching that new comedy "Hamlet 2". It sounds hilarious! Gotta love Steve Coogan. Haven't heard of it? Look it up!

PieLove out!

Oh, my, Another Blog!

Hello again, TV.com users! Bet you all didn't expect me to update so soon, huh? Well, here I am! Anyways...

School started a while ago. Man, I did not anticipate so much work this year! So many assignments, and papers to complete, and things to read...like, 2 hours a night just on reading! I missed the season premiere of "America's Next Top Model" because of it! No big deal though; I'll catch it next week. Despite everything, I am having a good year so far.

So, I recently decided to check out what all the fuss was about and read the book Twilight. I found it highly annoying in various ways. First of all, it dragged on waaaaay too long. There were long passages just on the main character (Bella) just getting ready for bed (putting on pajamas, brushing her teeth and hair, and checking her e-mail). YAWN! The book relies too much on unnecessarily intricate sentences and adjectives. The only thing carrying the characters along is the fact that they have magical, other-worldly qualities. Other than that, they are generally uninteresting and unappealing. The ending was pretty decent for a while when I finally got to it, and then BAM! It was over. I will not give it away, just in case anyone hasn't read it yet. In conclusion, I give the book 2/5 overall. I don't particularly recommend it, unless you like really long, slightly irritating passages about attractive vampires that get old quickly.

A far more interesting thing I did recently was go to Disneyland with a few friends. I had the best time! Never realized there were so many things to do at 'the happiest place on earth'! There are 47 rides in total, and I only hit, like, 10! I went on the spinning tea cups ride for the 1st time, and got dizzy for about half an hour! It was horrible. I do not recommend going on it on a full stomach! :P I do like the whimsical nature of it all, though.

That's it for now! I'll blog later, whenever I see fit.

I'm Not Dead

Hello, fellow TV.com users! Man, I realized I haven't blogged in about half a year! The reason is that I honestly don't think I'm that interesting! I don't see the things that happen to me as worth blogging about. But I thought I should give you people some sort of update, so here I go.

School starts in a few days, which is very exciting. I actually really enjoy school. I don't see why others look upon it with such dread; I suppose that's why people think I'm strange...;)

I've recently developed a profound liking and respect for Ellen Page. I mean, she's just so talented! She was simply amazing in "Juno" and "Hard Candy". I plan to watch more of her work soon, specifically "The Tracey Fragments" and "Mouth to Mouth". In interviews, she's just so down to earth and friendly! She never gives a boring or unintelligent answer. She comes off as very approachable and relatable.

For my English **** I had to read two novels during the summer. They were "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "Sense and Sensibility". I must say, I enjoyed them both. They're so well-written and engrossing! People just do not express themselves the way they used to. Makes me shed a small tear! We've gotten lazy, it seems. The only complaint I have is they're both so long, and the print so small! XD

Recently, I've been reading books by teen novelist Ellen Wittlinger. She's so great; she writes in such a realistic and compelling manner that you really get to relate to the characters! I highly recommend anything by her. I've already read 4 of her books, which is rare for me; I very seldom read multiple novels by the same author, so you can really tell I like her work! The ones I've read are Hard Love(my favorite of hers), Blind Faith, The Long Night of Leo and Bree, and Razzle.

A friend of mine has turned me onto the world of anime! At first I was hesitant, but I can't help it! It's addicting! I've already seen a few series. They include "Katekyo Hitman Reborn!" (my favorite), "Ouran High Schol Host Club" (can't wait for the English dub!), "Kodocha", "Death Note" (so amazing!), and "Junjo Romantica" (guilty pleasure :P).

"Pushing Daises" season two premieres on ABC October 1st! I can't wait!

Well, that's it for now! PieLove out...

Hey, People!!

I noticed I haven't updated in about a month, so I decided I should blog at least once a month.

The Oscars were last week, which I was happy about. Jon Stewart did a good job hosting and was funny, as usual. I was also pleased with the winners. I was especially happy about Marion Cotillard winning for Best Actress. She was amazing in the French film "La Vie En Rose". Her acceptance speech was sweet and genuine. I can't say I was surprised about "Juno" winning only Best Original Screenplay and Daniel Day Lewis winning for Best Actor, and "No Country For Old Men" winning Best Picture. Must put those movies on my "What to Watch" list! Overall, a good show.

By the way, does anyone go on fanfiction.net? Just thought I'd ask.

Surprising Week for the Film Business!

This week, Academy-Award nominee Heath Ledger passed away. So incredibly sad and tragic! I a not even a huge fan, nor have I seen a lot of his films, but still! Only 28!

On a lighter note, the Oscar nominations were released this week! (Hopefully they won't be cancelled, like the Golden Globes.) Not surprising films were nominated like "There Will Be Blood", "No Country For Old Men" and "Michael Clayton". AND my favorite actor of all time got nominated for Best Actor, Johnny Depp for his performance in my favorite film of the year, "Sweeney Todd"! I am incredibly excited for that. I thought the movie was brilliant. Anyway, one movie that surprised me with all it's nominations was "Juno". It got nominated for Best Actress (Ellen Page) and for Best Picture, two of the most prestigious awards given! Don't get me wrong, I saw the movie and really enjoyed it. I mean, it had the type of humor I encounter every day, and had a good plot, but I certainly didn't think it Oscar-worthy! Well, I'm happy for the small film anyway, I suppose.

As a last note, R.I.P. Heath Ledger...

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

What's up, people? Hope you all have a really aweosme Christmas/Kwanza/Chaunaka/whatever you celebrate! I know I will, even though I know those 133 vocabulary words for science won't write themselves! Oh, well, I'll get to them! Happy Holidays! :D

I Have a New Favorite Show!

Pushing Daisies is the best new show! It's a forensic fairytale and each episode is like a mini-movie. If you have not seen it, you should RIGHT AWAY!  Ned (the main character) can bring dead things back to life, and teams up with his partner Emerson to find out how people died and collect the reward. He decides to bring his chidhood sweetheart back  to life called Chuck, and he no longer can touch her, because he already touched her, and she'll die if Ned comes in contact with her again. They all work in Ned's shop caled 'The Pie Hole', where a quirky woman named Olive works at as well. She's infatuated with Ned, which creates an interesting love triangle between her, Ned and Chuck. Next episode shows an interesting twist about Ned and Olive, who are shown supposedly getting together. I've heard that some people think it's a dream sequence. What do you guys think? And who else thinks this show rocks!? :D

Harry Potter!!!!! (WARNING:Some Spoilers)

Who else read the last Harry Potter book? I did, after waiting a long time and I really liked it. Ron and Hermione finally get together, and Voldmemort is defeated! :D A great ending to the series, even though I honestly don't like that Ginny ended up with Harry. I did like how Neville ended up doing what he loved-Herbology. What really cracked me up was when one of the twins lost an ear, he said, ''I feel hole-y. Get it? Hole-y!'' And his twin responded with, ''That's the best you could do?'' Or something like that. And the fifth movie was good too, but I felt it was really rushed. The beginning was all wrong, with the dementors.
