@pomps709 - I understand the point you are making. I just wanted to point out that being an Introvert is not a sickness or a problem. They are normal people. There are Introverts and Extroverts, and there is nothing wrong with either. There are more Extroverts than Introverts, and neither tend to understand the other very well, but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with either. People are born with different chemical builds, and naturally everyone is a different person. Extroverts need human interaction to keep going. It's like fuel, it energizes them, keeps them going. Where as Introverts are drained by human interaction. They don't hate human interaction. They get their rest and "fuel" by being by themselves. There is allot of misconceptions that people who are shy, anti-social, people who don't have good social skills, and people who are reclusive, are Introverts, and that it's a bad thing, but that is actually incorrect. Both Introverts and Extroverts can have those problems, and both types of people are perfectly normal. They generally don't tend to understand each other very well, and more often than not, Extroverts have more Extrovert friends and Introverts have more Introvert friends. Extroverts tend to socialise with more people, but are less connected with those people. Introverts generally socialise with less people, but know those people allot more deeply. Once again, everyone is different, and these are generalisations. But at the very base of it, Extroverts are refreshed from socialising, and Introverts are refreshed with alone time. Allot of people may be surprised to find out that people who they think are Extroverts or Introverts are actually the other. I myself am an Introvert. But I have fantastic social skills, I'm extremely confident, very open, and get along well with people. I just don't like spending lots of time with people, especially large groups of people. Not because they make me feel uncomfortable, they don't. But because I find it allot more satisfying to be with fewer people and get to know them better. Socialising for me is very draining, and I need allot of time by myself to refresh and be ready for the next day. Sorry for the long explanation, but I just felt it necessary to explain that, Introverts are not socially troubled people even if it might seem that way, they can be, as can extroverts. They just tend to come across this way because they, or "we", not only find more satisfaction overall, from more solitary activities over socialising with people, but are also drained from socialising and need a break from it to regenerate. Where as Extroverts, are the opposite. There is nothing wrong with either type of person however. (Excuse the wall of text, even If I put it into paragraphs, it just posts it as a single block.)

People can get addicted to a great many things. Video Games is definetly one of them. One thing I find that need's to be taken into account more with any addiction, is yes, I'm sure some kinds of entertainment, and certainly substances can have effects on certain people's personalities that can drive them to extreme actions. But not all anti-social gamers for example, are anti-social because they are gamers. Allot of things just attract certain types of people. Games can cause social problems, But it's also a habbit that attracts people with social problems as far as I'm concerned. I'd imagine violent and psychologically twisted people would be attracted to certain games too. Violent and graphically brutal games, to satisfy their sick twisted thoughts. I can say that games have helped desensitise me to blood etc. But It definetly hasn't turned me into a violent person. I wish no harm onto anyone, and I treat people I dislike with respect even. I find it possible that certain people with problems could become violent from games. But I find it more likely that Violent people are drawn to them more than the other way round.

Look at Burnout Paradise for the PC. US release date, 5th FEB, EU, 6th FEB. AU, 12th March! It's over a month differance! I want to play it. I want to buy it. I look at all online places I can buy it. Can I? Nooooo, because they won't sell it to me in this country untill it's available here retail. WHY? So now, I have a copy untill it comes out here. I was willing and trying to buy it, but couldnt. Because of this countries greedy retail system. Even online US prices for places like steam, when our dollar was roughly at 94 US cents. US game prices where never higher than $60. Even $60 at 90 US cents is roughly $66 AUD. And retail stores here where still pushing those titles for $90 - $110 !!! But nooo. Us Game consumers in this country should be Happy!!! Buying feels GOOD! Why? Because we get ripped off and have to wait forever. And then if your a PC gamer especially. Have the risk of buying a crap $100 game and feeling just so peachy afterwards for an unreturnable game that didn't have a demo like 90% of titles these days. For starters, if you want to stop piracy for people who want to buy things. Have release dates no longer than 3 days differance. And let people buy the games from online and digital distribution retails the moment it becomes available. Let's face the facts. It's the greedy publishers and retailers thats hurting game sales more than piracy. Don't get me wrong. The people who are online Pirating games like crysis and every other game regardless, saying they dont have the money, but have something like "Intel Core i7 940, W.D. 1TB SATA HDD, 1GB 280 GTX Gigabyte, 4GB G.skill DDR3 etc etc in their Sig just makes me sick. And those people are everywhere, and are completely unjustified. The game sucks, why should I pay for it? If it sucks?! Why do you want to play it so bad??? Eitherways, companies are seemingly getting greedier and greedier. And if we didn't have the internet to fight back, the poor consumer would be getting crushed. And all the publishers out there would be saying, who gives an F about yalls. Look at ALL THE MONEY!!! Now, when we have a weapon to vote with either our cash or piracy. Your all. THE INDUSTRY IS DIEING. WE HAD TO DROP 11% of our workforce JUST so i could have my 3 month end of year holiday in Hawaii with my family this year!!! Obviously, allot of this rant is very exagerated. Eitherways. It's time for the balance between Quality, Customer care, and Profits and DRM to come back into line. Blame piracy all you want, but when people are making good quality products, it's amazing how much money they make from the people buying that product.

I was trying to play games competitively for years here in australia. But Sadly Ive lost interest in that because there is no real competition. So few servers, such crappy and expensive internet, the government has screwed us so much in this country with games and the net, its so bloody unfair. The worst thing with the net is being highly overcharged and then being given the most horrible service you have ever heard of. Being overcharged is one thing, but atleast give me decent service . . . . bastards. If things ever change ill probabaly start to get competitive again, especially in starcraft and Quake, UT style shooters. for now ill just keep playing less seriously 6 - 8 hours a day for fun as I always do, still awesome fun, dont wanna take it too seriously all the time ^^.

Whoa, saintvalentine, dont have an orgasm. Altho I do agree, alot of these people are extreamly stupid. No one should be worrying about any of the games they said dont work, because its so incomplete. You people need to do some programming or somthing to make you realise how picky data is. Basically everything has to be perfect. And considering Vista is like 7 months away from being released . . . . . well thats allot of time to be adding things, fixing things and changing things. Also, the way OS are built, OF COURSE its gonna play things like BF2 and WoW. Do you seriously think those games are oh so differant from thousands of other games that their not gonna work. It is as they said, for basically all the difficulties their having, its the drivers. And of course the GPU drivers arnt gonna be up to scratch. Why should they be, Nvidia and ATI have ages untill people are going to be using vista. Also, why would they put in all the time to perfect drivers for a massive program thats still being programmed and is changing. It would be a waste of time, most likely after certain changes that could be made those drivers wouldnt be working properly. Microsoft isnt going to release a new OS that doesnt play newer games. Do you have any idea how much buisness they would loose. Not to mention, why tf would they go to all the trouble of building vista with optimization for new games . . . . . to be fashionable ?
