Is this the best year in gaming? There are multiple answers to that question. 1) Is this the year with the best game releases? It is certainly possible. Of course, future games will be continuing to push the bar in nearly all categories. But one could argue, that this year has had the best releases. 2) Is this the greatest gaming year? No. The greatest year in gaming was 1999, the year Billy Mitchell achieved a perfect score in Pac-Man. 3) Is this the best year in gaming? Yes. Statistics show that the gaming industry has been steadily increasing in profits and has yet to have a downwards trend

I've played some 300-400 hours on my XBox and I have yet to find a significant flaw. One thing that bugged me was that my (wireless) controller would shut off if it vibrated, and that didn't make any sense to me. Regardless, I shut off the vibration and I haven't had a problem since. And I guess having wi-fi not included is annoying, but I see they fixed it with the new one....except that I'm not paying another few hundred dollars to get a new XBox when my current works PERFECTLY

Well they're trying to put an unproven franchise on consoles versus a game that will sell millions based on the name alone. Crysis 2 could be the best thing since sliced bread but Crytek isn't stupid enough to think that they'll be able to generate as much hype as the MS marketing machine.General_X
I think thats a very good point. Halo was a great game. It had (and arguably continues) raised the bar for FPS games. I am probably exaggerating when I say this, but the original Halo game is the major reason as why the console was so popular when it was first released. Crysis is different. People who have played Crysis will say Crysis is worth playing. I haven't played Crysis, and most people haven't. Why? Because it took the best available computers to run it. Normal computers couldn't. (It took higher system specs than Oblivion does, if I am not mistaken) Yes. It is certainly possible that Crytek delayed Crysis because it couldn't compete with Halo Reach. Its good marketing, because Microsoft has stated that Halo Reach is supposed to be the DEFINITIVE Halo experience, and may not pursue further titles, allowing Crysis 2 to fill up some of that space. It's also definitely possible that the game won't run perfect on both systems, so they delayed it to make the game the best it can be. The last thing you want while competing with a bigger name is a bugged/faulty game
