Growing Old, Growing Cold

In contrast to my last entries I now have something to write about! I finished my diploma thesis in the beginning of August and am now working as a computer scientist in a software development company. The place of work is really nice and my salary is high enough to buy any games I want. ;) An even bigger news than finishing my degree is that I got married to my girlfriend (who else?) in late August in Denmark. Maybe I’m really growing old~ But enough off topic talking , back to what this blog really is about: video games. Since I wrote the last entry more than four month ago, I had enough time to play many different games. The last one I played through was Onimusha 4 and I must say, that I hate these games, were you have to use every character shortly before the end, so that you are forced to level the characters you didn’t use until then. The same thing disturbed me when I was playing Rogue Galaxy. Until this point both games were above-average but these parts were just frustrating… Hack//G.U. 3 was one of the games I really looked forward to get my hands on. Though, even I liked the third game I’m happy that the G.U. series ended with this part, before the gameplay gets just to repetitive (even for me). Another case, where I nearly died of boredom, was Persona 3. In the beginning I really liked the game. But after being half through to it, the dating simulation part and the endless dungeon crawling grew really old and I toiled me through the last hours of the game. When I can spare some time I’m playing Guilty Gear X2 #Reloaded right now, to train my skills for the upcoming, unofficial, two-player tournament end of November! :D

Dear diary...

I'm still working on my diploma thesis. Don't have time to play. All work and no play makes Tombery a dull boy. All work and no play makes Tombery a dull boy. All work and no play makes Tombery a dull boy. All work and no play makes Tombery a dull boy. All work and no play makes Tombery... As you can assume from the first paragraph, not much happened the last weeks. A friend and I started a german blog with the odd name Digitaleintopf and wrote a short review about Odin Sphere there, the only game I played since my last post, but I'm to lazy to translate it into english. :/

No use for a Na... Topic

Not much happened since my last post. Most of the time I was working on my diploma thesis but I also spent some time playing games.

I played through Shining Force EXA - in my opinion an enjoyable Hack 'n Slay RPG. I also played all Mega Man X parts from the MMX Collection and must admit that that it's much more fun to play with Zero than Rock/Mega Man.

Another game I played the last few days was Crescendo, a hentai game but with the focus more on the storytelling than superfluous sex scenes. It's more like this gooey romance animes like Video Girl Ai or Kimi ga Nozomu Eien but I really liked it.

Oh, and before i forget: My girlfriend was at a con the last weekend, when I was studying at home... But therefore she bought me a nice gift there, which you can see in the picture below!

First Entry

I don't really have much to write about; I'm just in the mood to post something, so this blog doesn't seem so empty. Below is a picture of my girlfriend and myself, snapped on a german anime connvention in September 2006.
