Of all the control pads I've used I like the GameCube controller the best. I have quite a few systems with analog controllers like the DreamCast, N64, PS1 and the GameCube and by far I like the GameCube controller the best. My brother and cousin have the XBox and when I play their systems, the controllers suffice.
I agree with the first post, you should make them show you that it works before leaving the store with it. Also, GameCubes have gotten quite cheap at $99.99, you might be better off buying a new one; that would certainly be my preference. I bought my GameCube a while back when they bundled it with Zelda and really never noticed any problems.
Sadly, many things can be abused. I don't mind there being an emblem for it, there already exists things which one can cheat, such as their game collection. I personally don't care as much about anyone's game collection other than mine. So, if someone out there is cheating, it has little affect on me. I have the emblem for serious collector and old school because of all the games I own and their wide variety. I know I have these games, but as far as Gamespot and everyone else knows, I may not, yet I got an emblem. Either way, I don't care if there is an emblem for this, I'd like this feature for my own remembrance. I've beaten so many games, I can't remember what I've beaten.
