2.36 doesn't really have much to talk about. It increased the stability when playing some original PS1 games. They mentioned it on their blog.

The one to watch out for is v2.4 with in-game XMB and trophies. When that happens, I will never have to leave my playstation again.

Well considering your game saves are located ON your hard drive, they aren't actually deleted. If you swap the current HD in your PS3 with a new one, you'll find there are no saves because they are still on the one you just took out. There are ways to transfer them if you need.

If you just want to hook up an external HD with a USB cable, then you can still find all your saves on the HD that's still in your PS3.

-Playstation Online is FREE

-Games and Add-ons cost money, but you're not forced to buy them

-Oblivion is NOT online

-Does not matter if you get 40GB or 80GB

Yeah I originally just got the DMC4 demo, and thought it was good. Then my friend told me about the Club, and I have to say I loved it about just as much. Can't say I like either better, though. We'll see what kind of reviews it gets, but it's definitely in consideration for purchase.

It's up to you whether you think it's a good purchase to make. I originially bought my PS3 because I like living as close to the cutting edge as possible, and it also allowed me to still play my PS2 games. I think there's limited to no backwards compatability now, though, so I'm not sure how that factore in for you.

The way I see it is like this...if you like playing games online with people all the time and thrive of finding online games as soon as possible, the 360 is better for that. For me, I'm content in Playstation Online, and definitely favor the games it offers. Everything else that's a 360 exclusive I get for my PC (except Halo, which I can live without). This isn't a rant or me trying to be a Sony fanboy, just my take on the system battle.

I've never played a DMC title before, so this was my first experience with it. I absolutely loved it. Looks visually amazing, and the gameplay was pretty fun too. It seemed slightly repetative to me, but perhaps I wasn't exposed to everything there is to do. There also seemed to be a fair amount of loading. None of it took long at all, but every time you go in another door it would take a second or two to load everything. Again, not sure how this demo will differ from retail.

I am planning of picking it up, though... it seems fun enough. I might even get DMC3 before so I can have a little of the back story.

I havent played Uncharted yet. But just got Oblivion. "Moment" ? The moment i walked out of the prison... Those who played it will know what i mean. :)aaron5829

QFT. Oblivion is probably one of the most visually stunning games I have ever played. Anywhere I went in-game, I could not help but just stop for a little bit to look around at the gorgeous environments. From the very beginning, I was sold into the power of the PS3.

Wow, I guess you can't.atst007

Maybe next time you might want to wait more than three minutes before you claim victory. Why the hell do you care if people like me purchased a PS3 instead of a 360? Personally, I wanted to upgrade to next-gen and still play my PS2 games, so the PS3 was obviously a good choice for me.

I think the 360 is a great system for people who can see the value in it. My friends who have 360 love it, I love my PS3, and we manage to live together. I hope to god that I never encounter someone as ignorant and stubborn as you outside of this environment. You must be the best member of the debate team, since your argument and rhetoric skills are infallible. If someone can't convince you of something you have already decided, then you obviously win. Congrats

I want to get an HDMI cable so I don't have to switch the component cables up everytime I wanted to play the game/watch cable and vice versa.

Tree06

Some of that depends on the inputs your TV can handle. How many HDMI and component connections does it have? If it has two component, then you're set. Just use component cables for PS3 and your cable box.

If it only has component input, I would suggest using that for the cable box. Then I'm assuming there is an HDMI port, which you could use for your PS3. It would be better to use HDMI with PS3 than with your cable box, IMO.

If you feel like being consistent, and your TV has 2 HDMI inputs, use those for your PS3 and HDMI. Otherwise, if you really want to do something without switching cables, just buy an A/V reciever or something of that nature.
