Yeah, this question may be redundent or stupid but I'll ask anyway. I know that just because the 3DS came out the production of DS games won't stop, however will certain game companies produce games solely for one of the two? Like for instance, I'm really looking forward to Professor Layton vs. Pheonix Wright in the one trailer Japan has made they only mentioned the 3DS. Will this be like the DVD or Blue Ray? Just because they only mention the 3DS doesn't essentially mean that it won't be available for the DS to right? I'm just asking because if the Pheonix Wright and Professor Layton series are just going to market for the 3DS now I may buy it.

[QUOTE="NaveedLife"]you never know. It all depends on if games are still being produced for it. Sony still produces games for the PS2 because there are over 130million sold worldwide so GameSpot still has its tab up. If Nintendo decides to keep making DS games, or maybe have a couple 3DS games that are compatible with the DS then GameSpot might keep the tab. And that wouldn't be a bad idea considering the Ds has sold over 130million units worldwide as well. So I guess its all about what systems are 'alive' at this point.Should get its own tab, and when DS games stop being made the DS tab should be removed, leaving only the 3DS. Makes sense.

I thought they already decided to stop making for the DS once 3DS has been on the market for a while...
I'd wait for the 3DS because from rumors I've been hearing on the forums Nintendo isn't making for the DS once the 3DS comes out. It'd be a wiser purchase in the long run is what I'm saying, but again I've been hearing contradictive things may want to make sure before you buy anything.
the 3ds is strictly not an infants toy keep out of reach of minors under (but not including) the age of 7
no tikes with a 3ds got that.. their eyes havent developed enough to handle 3d technologies at work in the handheld and have been causing the ceasing of eye developement beyond that age range (in short your eyes would stop growth and developement after age 6)
those still wanting an infant to use it are strongly recommended to cut the 3ds to normal 2d mode in the configuration settings to reduce the risk of eye damage.
nintendo's use of a 2d mode in the 3ds is there strictly for this reason as in testing it has been quite common to see it happen which is the reason for the concern.

so in short the following is a big no no
But can kids under the age of 6 really use any hand held game let alone a 3DS? Last time I played Golden Sun at my baby cousin's house (who is 5 by the way) he took the game out of my DS and tried to SWALLOW it. I don't think you should trust someone with a hand held gaming system, who is also likely to try and eat the $35 games. Not trying to sound offensive but thats a stupid kid. When I was five I was playing A Link to the Past on SNES and Final Fantasy VII on PS1 which are semi-complicated games for a five year old. Yeah he isn't a very smart, but exposing your child to a development stumping piece of technology isn't either. I'd take my stupid cousin over a cousin with sight problems. But can kids under the age of 6 really use any hand held game let alone a 3DS?
