Need help with buying a monitor for gaming and perhaps a lecture on all this HD, aspect ratio, 1080p, blah blah, stuff.

Samsung 2233BW 22" Widescreen

I don't care for HD. In college, so it makes sense. But I'm just wondering what I need to connect my 360 to the monitor and if I do buy speakers also. What chords, cables, and adapters do I need? I've heard all this VGA and DVI mumbo jumbo and I'm not up to speed on what aspect ratios are and what those numbers 20,000:1 or 1680 x 1050 mean!

I just don't want to bite the big one and be surprised. This is my first time with a monitor though...

Well, it does sound cool. It'll be interesting to see the actual gameplay. Going off of a pre-rendered trailer doesn't impress me. Though (not to start any arguments or anything), I laughed when I saw people suddenly treating this game like it was God-sent and bashed the 360 because it was exclusive to the PS3. If you wanted shooters, honestly, wouldn't you have got a 360 instead? Serious question. Most of my friends that got a PS3, wanted it for the RPGs or something other than shooters. So it was really weird to see that sudden shift in focus.

But back on topic, that 8 squad thing sounds very similar to another epic shooter. I can't remember...is it Huxley?

No FF Versus for the 360...yet. But no need to get greedy when we're going to be able to play one of them atleast. I am excited that I am able to experience the best of both worlds with great shooters, and RPGs and everything else in between with one console.
