I was gonna split this chapter into 2, but I decided to end it....... Well..... sighs..... this is my last chapter:( But hey, it had to come to an end ya know. I hope all my readers will enjoy the last installment. So here it is Chapter VII....... THE LAST STAND.
"No, I let this dream come to past. I tried to prevent this!" Jayson shouted, as he held his master in his arms. The least Jayson could do was give his master a proper burial. Jayson lifted Kavar onto his shoulders, and carried him off into the fiery ashes of the netherealm. When Jayson returmed home, Jaysuke could not believe what had happened. "How did this happen, who could have done this?" wondered Jaysuke. "Nihilus." "What?! I thought Nihilus died years ago." Jaysuke responded. "So did I." Jayson and Jaysuke thought the best proper burial would be to burn Kavar's remains. They got a casket, set Kavar inside it, and took him to the top of a mountain. As they watched the remains of Kavar burn, Jayson stood there, very quiet. Didn't say a word. After the casket was burned, with Kavar inside it, Jayson and Jaysuke buried it in the ground. A tear started to fall down Jayson's face. "I will avenge you master! I will train harder than ever, and slay the dark lord for good! I promise you!" Jayson exclaimed to Kavar's casket. So Jayson went down the mountain to train. Jayson trained, and trained, and trained, until he got so tired, he dropped to the ground, gasping for breath. "I...... will avenge...... you master.. It's my fault, I have failed you." Jayson could not go on any longer, so he went home. "You hungry son?" wondered Jaysuke. "Sighs.......... no thanks, I'm going to bed." That very night, Jayson had a dream. "Young Jayson," whispered a voice. "It is time. Your training is comeplete, your time is soon to come, soon..............." Then the voice disappeared, as Jayson woke up in the middle of the night. "What was that," thought Jayson. Jayson didn't get any rest the entire night. The dream he had was difficult to ignore. All day the only thing Jayson could think about was the dream he had. Jayson trained all afternoon long, thinking of how he failed to prevent Kavar's death. "I, the one who is supposed to be the greatest firebender that ever lived, let his master die." Jayson went back to the spot where Kavar was buried. The engraved stone said, "Kavar, a true shaolin warrior." Jayson bent down to gaze at the stone. "You know, I never thought this day would come. Hehe..... we were like best friends you know. Heck, you were my only friend. *sniffles* The things you taught me, I'd thought I'd never need. There were so many times I was stubborn, and it nearly costed my life. There are things in life that........ you know, people take for granted. Hehe, we never really appreciate it till it's gone. You know, even though your gone, I can still feel your hand on my shoulder. I'll never forget you master." Jayson arose slowly, and left Kavar's burial ground. When Jayson returned home, his father was there waiting. "There is one last thing you must do before facing the dark lord," Jaysuke stated. "What must I do father?" "There is so much you've went through my son, perfecting your skills, gaining insight from me and Kavar. You no doubt have the ability to defeat the dark lord. You've become an outstanding firebnder, so much stronger than me. I'm very proud of you Jayson. But, it is important you know about the origin of the sister blade. And the great power it possess'." "How do I know more about the blade, father?" "Here is a scroll written by the sworn guardian of the shaolin temple containing the swords history. Study it well. Once you have studied it, and know everything you can know, then you will be ready to face Nihilus." "Yes father, I will study this and know all there is to know about the sister blade." "I know you will.... I know you will." So Jayson took the scroll, and left to the ruins of the shaolin temple. Jayson sat near the entrance of the temple, got comfortable, and immersed himself into the reading. "On a wretched dark and stormy night, I almost felt myself being drawn by something, something powerful. The rain was so heavy, you could barely see your way through. All of a sudden, I found myself come into an area filled with pits of lava,
shooting out of the air. The great power that was luring me closer got even stronger. I kept moving until I came to a cliff, with an object at the top. The object was filled with dark haze, like it was almost peering itself through the heavy rain. I climbed the mountainous rock. I nearly slipped and fell to my death. The massive energy was strong. I finally reached the top, and I couldn't believe what I saw....... A black duel bladed sword plunged into the earth, surrounded in dark smoke. I pulled it out of the ground. The power was so great, it nearly consumed me. The swords power was in conflict with my soul. I tried to fight it. And in the struggle........ I felt myself levitate in the air for a few seconds, as the power coursed through my veins. Until, finally, I felt myself drop to my knees. I then knew, the sword's power was to great to be found. And whoever came in contact with the sword, may not have the same luck as I. So, I took the sword back to the shaolin temple, where it's power would be sealed at the top of the shaolin temple forever. I then swore that I would protect the sword's dark properties for the remainder of my life." "So, that's how the sister blade was found. I must meditate on this." Jayson studied the background of the sister blade all day long. As it got late, Jayson headed home. On his walk home, Jayson became very tired. So when he got home, he went straight to bed. As Jayson slept, he had a dream. "At last, your preparing is finished........." whispered a voice. "Your time young Jayson is here........" as the voiced finally disappeared as Jayson awoke to a glorious morning. Jayson breathed in the air, and breathed out. "Ahhhh....." like he knew today something great was going to happen. All morning Jayson thought about what he read yesterday. "Today is the day, I feel it." Jayson ate him a well balanced breakfast, and went straight to the shaolin temple. He felt himself somewhat, lured there. As Jayson approached the abandoned temple, he noticed a glowing figure. It looked like a man in white clothing, an old man. Jayson approached the glowing figure slowy, very cautious. As Jayson got closer, the figure suddenly disappeared. Jayson then sat and meditated all afternoon long. Suddenly........ I gust of wind came, keeping Jayson from concentrating. When Jayson opened his eyes.......... "........ughhhhhh....... gra... grandfather," studdered Jayson. "Your time has come, you will be the next silver kobbra." "Seriously!!! I hav............." as Jayson stopped, he noticed his grandfather had vanished. Jayson finally knew that he was ready to face Nihilus. So Jayson trained with himself one last time, to prepare for his one, last, stand. After training all evening long, Jayson trotted home, and prepared to finally avenge his master. When Jayson arrived at home, he went straight to his room. He went to his his large closet, I whipped out a sharp katana sword. Near it was a knife with an engraved dragon on it. He took the knife, and went outside. Jayson then noticed that it had gotten dark "Sigh............. My beautiful dread locks. I'm gonna miss you." Jayson then began to cut each dread, one by one. "Sigh.........." Sighed Jayson., as he gazed at the stars in a deep depression. "I screwed up letting you die master, now it's time for me to avenge you." Jayson then gazed at the stars once more, knowing the time for him to end Nihilus was near. As Jayson took a deep breath........ Suddenly, Jaysuke appears. "Hello, father," Jayson stated. "Jayson, sighs............. I remember when you were just a little boy. Hehe......... eager, always ready to prove yourself." Jayson then let out a little grin. "It seems as though it were just yesterday, you and Kavar were training together. But, ya know, your not a little boy anymore, you're a man. You done all that you can do. Sighs......................... My time as the silver kobbra is up, my son, your time is now." Jaysuke then pulled out the silver kobbra sword, wrapped around a golden sheet. "No father, I couldn't." stated Jayson. "It's not my choice, your grandfather knows the time. I positive you've been having dreams letting you know this." "Yes, but how did you know," wondered Jayson. "When you're the silver kobbra these things are already known to you." "I see." replied Jayson. "You will become an even greater silver kobbra than I ever was. But now it is time for you to face Nihilus. Your going to need the blade to slay him. Sighs......... Go now and end Nihilus, Master Jayson." Jayson then grinned and said, "Thank you father, I shall remember this."
As Jayson walked the surface of the netherealm he could feel the presence of Nihilus near. "Come out Nihilus, I'm here to finish you for good!" cried Jayson. Feeling the wind blow through his clothes. Seeing the volcanic lava shoot up from the pits, Jayson knew that either he was going to finish the dark lord, or die trying. Twirling the white glowing blade, looking left and right, until suddenly, Jayson spotted Nihilus with his back facing Jayson in the distance. "You will burn in the fiery pits of which you were deceased in the begining!" cried Jayson, as he walked toward Nihilus. As Jayson got closer, Nihilus turned and faced Jayson. As Nihilus turned and revealed the very blade that killed Kavar, Jayson noticed the dark haze surrounding the entire sword. "I'm not holding back," thought Jayson. As Jayson made the first attack, Nihilus backed away, dodging the strikes. Jayson attacked a second time. At the same time, Nihilus attacked as well. Their blades clanging with each others, "I will avenge my master!" shouted Jayson, as he backed Nihilus further and further to the edge. Suddenly, with a kick to the face, Jayson fell to the ground, giving Nihilus the levrage he needed to attack Jayson. But Jayson would not go down that easy. Before Nihilus could strike him, Jayson blocked Nihilus, and kicked him to the side. Jayson quickly arose to his feet to attacked Nihilus. Nihilus, of course, arose to his feet as well and blocked the strikes that was forced upon him by Jayson. They both fought off each other for a while, clanging, and clanging went the blades, until the two locked up. Jayson stared into the mask, and suddenly stated, "You're a relentless opponent, Lord Nihilus, but don't underestimate my superior ablities." Their blades then suddenly unlocked, continuing on with the crucial battle. "You will fall, Nihilus, you will fall," Jayson stated. Jayson then kicked Nihilus to the ground, and somersaulted over him to strike him down. But Nihilus quickly stood up on his feet, and just managed to get away before Jayson could slash him. The fight suddenly came to a sudden pause. Jayson, gasping for breath, watched Nihilus, as Nihilus watched him. "My master, he was a special friend to me. We had a lot of precious times together. He taught me everything I knew, and you took him away. Your gonna pay for what you've done to my family." Jayson then lifted his blade to attack Nihilus yet again, and the battle raged on once more. Clanging, clanging, the swords went. Jayson felt the wind once more, blow through his clothes. The volcanic lava, the black haze, Jayson could see it all. "I will not die here," thought Jayson. "I will avenge my master." They both dodged each others moves for a while. They both attacked each other, blocking the others strikes, until they came very close to the edge of a cliff. Suddenly, Nihilus used the black kobbra's swords power, and force pushed Jayson off the cliff. Nihilus walked over to the edge of the cliff to see if Jayson fell into the fiery pits, but Jayson was hanging on a part of the cliff that was not to far from the top. Nihilus swatted the sword, back and forth, scraping chunks of the cliff and sending them down into the pits. Jayson was still holding the silver kobbra blade. So he wondered how he would get out of the predicament. Jayson looked down into the fiery pits of the netherealm, and then looked up back up at Nihilus. Jayson noticed the distance between where he was hanging from, and where the top of the cliff was, wasn't distant. Jayson knew it was a do or die situation, so with all his might "Ahhhhhh!!!" Jayson plunged himself into the air, flipped up and over Nihilus' head, and then with a quick slash to the mid area, black haze arose from insides of Nihilus, as he fell back into the fiery pits of the netherealm. "I have avenged you, my master." Jayson put his sword in the sheet that was on his back, and looked up at the dark and gloomy sky, knowing that there was definitely a brighter future as him being the next silver kobbra.
