Members of multiple Muse fansites, including the official Muse board, have banded together in an attempt to place the song "Citizen Erased" from the "Origin of Symmetry" album firmly into the UK top 40 chart for the week 9th-15th July. This idea was developed by a few fans, and has rapidly ciruclated through Muse's tightly-knit fanbase.

The 7-minute long, prog-tinged epic has long been a favourite amongst Muse fans, and was seen as a perfect choice for the campaign, which utilise (relatively) recent changes to the workings of the UK chart system, which allows -any- song, regardless of release date, genre or tracks not released as singles, to enter the charts on the proviso that enough "units" of the track are legally downloaded (e.g. From 7digital, iTunes UK store or HMV digital)

The campaign central is unofficial, and not-for-profit fansite muselive.com. At the time of writing, the track is the highest downloaded track on 7digital's online store, and is rising steadily through the UK iTunes chart. As well as this, A YouTube video (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3TkCwHIJyp4)created to spread the message has garnered over 2,000 views in one day becoming one of the most downloaded and favourite online videos, as well as the 5th highest rates video for the day in the Music sub-category. the campaign also utilises social networking sites suuch as Myspace and Facebook

Fans and members of the campaign have described it as being an attempt to show the UK that there is more to music than R&B and Indie music, and that, while there is a lot of manufactured music in the UK at this time, it only takes a little perseverance, and an open mind to cut through the dissonance and find a gem.

To help you can purchase this song:

UK PEOPLE:

Please note free itunes downloads from coke won't count towards the chart so using this to get the song won't help only actually purchasing it will
