Looking at getting a monitor just for gaming, size between 23 to 27 inches. I already have a plasma but this tv will be for my room and this room is small.

Any suggestions?

Well I have had it since september, didn't start putting a lot of ours into until early this month. Gaming for about 4-6 hours a day. I don't use it for watching cable tv and occasionaly watch a blu ray. Mainly a gaming tv. If IR really won'r become a problem then I will keep it, but The IR is still on the tv and has been there for almost 2 weeks now. Doesn't look like its going down and I haven't played fight night since I have seen it. Its very hard to see, but never the less, it bothers me if its going to be there for ever

Ohh, Is it true the longer you use a plasma the less IR happens?

WiiRocks66

Yes. Eventually, there won't be any retention, and it will all be residual charge, which will never go away.

Damn thats worse lol.

I'm pretty sure its image retention because the fight night stamina and health bar have been there for almost 2 weeks now. It might go away but now when I play fight night I took the hud off which sucks but its the only way I can use the tv right now. If its true the more hours the sets has the less chance of burn in and IR happening then I will keep the tv. Like I said this tv is everything I wanted except for this IR thats been happening.

Whats wrong with LCDS motion. I know somesuck but some seem pretty good

Do New lcds also suffer from image retention? And as time goes on does image retention on a plasma become harder or easier to get? Sorry for all these quiestions but really think whether I should keep it or not. I found out I can play Fight Night and take of the bars even though I kinda need them but Killzone 3 I play a lot to and I really need the hud in that game. I see very little IR from KillZone 3 but not bad. If LCDs suffer from the same thing then I'll keep it, if not then I think I should sell it even though the tv is awesome

I'm not sure. Our LG LCD hasn't gotten it yet and its constantly being switched from a torched/vivid (Hey not my doing. I'm too lazy to change the settings for cable.) and a calibrated setting for best picture possible (Setting grabbed from AVS Forum.) Don't think it will anytime soon.

IR is harder to get after the first hundred hours or so of using it, according to other plasma owners. The phosphers and panel are broken in by then. I'm surprised you aren't having problems with KZ3. Others have problems with phospher lag with games like Black Ops or KZ3. Guess they're sets are just defective.

Theres no need to sell it, unless you want a better picture, bigger screen, or 3D.

Phospher lag? Whats that?

I would personally rather keep gaming on the GT even if it meant wrecking it for all other content. My LCD has terrible BL bleed and a viewing angle so crappy that its essentially a 1 person at a time display.

I'm just sort of muffed that the IR is either THAT bad or i have burn-in when i really didn't do anything i would call abusive or that far outside of normal.

What kind of LCD you got? I was thinking of going with the samsung c630. I been hearing really good things and its in my price range. I know it won't be as sharp as the plasma and the motion won't be as good but atleast I can play my games without any worries

Thanks for the reply lol, I find custom to be the sharpest and best way to game. In fight night or god of war you can literally see the pores on the character models. Its a great tv but I play fight night a lot, like 4 to 6 hours a day, and the bottom health and stamina along with round timer is up there for 10 3 min rounds, I see that causing burn in if I play that much and those things are always there. Besides that the tv is amazing but I want to game with out having any worries.
