I have owned numerous consoles througout the years but by about the 2nd year of the first XBOX I felt a strong sense of boredom every time i glanced and the black monstrosity. I needed something new, the answer: PC Gaming. An entirely new world filled with possibilities. Although I had a weak PC i still enjoyed Half Life, Starcraft and Call of Duty over anything on the XBOX.
In the middle of last year I finished my Gaming PC, it would of cost about $2500 all up with the Quad core, 8800gt and Monitor ECT. Gaming bliss ensued, RTS, RPG and FPS all at my fingertips, after playing an Xbox 360 and PS3 at my friends place I chuckled at the terrible framerate in oblivion and the laughable textures in Halo 3.
As an independednt High school student money is tight but my Girlfriend and I purchased a 360, i was appaled by the graphics on my SDTV so i went out and got a $2500 1080p on credit. While the 360 looks ok it is still nothing compared to what my PC can churn out.
There is however a certain merrit in coming home from school or work, cuddling up on my old lounge with a can of woodstock and starting up some Forza 2.
In this game i found myself so relaxed, not really thinking but certainly enjoying myself. Being a keen Amatuer boxer I also got Fight Night R3, another experience that cant be produced using the PC.
While my GF and I use our PC as the main gaming system (Trust me FPS, RPG and Graphics are FAR FAR FAR better on PC) I still enjoy kicking back under the warm glow of my 42" with some Dead rising (Again not an expereince that can be had on PC) or with some mates with a game of FIFA. I am also EXTREMELY excited about GTA4.
Ive included some Pics of my flat so you can truly see what a person living in gaming heaven looks like. IMO You need to have a PC and another console, ideally a ps3 because those games are more diverse/more different to PC.
