It's a matter of people wanting to hold up their side of the agreement or if they break it.
Even if it was not neccessary to get a hard drive (which it is), wouldn't you want one anyways so that there is no delete and download??
No because I don't think the reward is worth the risk.
We've already seen that there's a certain kind of person who steals games thereby making all of us pay more. If you were to add storage besides the SD card that would make the Wii more desirable for this lower class of individual.
That coupled with the hard drive issues I've mentioned before in posts (that they fail at the same rate as they did a decade ago) makes me think it doesn't serve a great purpose.
None of the Wii's content needs a hard drive, so far what we're offered doesn't need a hard drive.
Companies are looking at the Wii and offering downloadable content.
If there was a reason I'd agree to it but right now a hard drive just opens up more trouble for Nintendo with no reward.

all i know is if they don't put a hardrive on the wii they better have one on there next console. because if they don't sony and mircorsoft are going to leave them even more. i love wii and for everything is but they have got to put a hardrive on it or the next one.
