Yeah it's like that old saying, no one likes a show off.

Sony has certainly showed off this gen, on top of being very arrogant they force people to get what they want them to get.

Take blu-ray, ppl want to play the console but since now they have to buy the console for $600, they say they might as well buy their movies on blu-ray.

Yes they're suppose to be smaller and make the 360 run way cooler but one question that I have is....

Is it gonna make the 360 quieter?

My current 360 is loud and I just wanted to know if anyone has the new component and is it running quieter????

Hey I feel u man.

My connection is pretty fast, but I too have my 360 downloading the demo since early last morning.

...it's at 68% right now. I think I may just follow the poster's advise and directly link my 360 to the modem for a faster data speed. I think part of the reason it's soo slow is because EVERYONE is downloading it, so the servers are probably working overtime.

Well, I hope the demo doesn't take too long.

I pre-ordered mine around the spring time, I thought it was $120 but it doesn't matter how much it is now. That's why I have a job

Ok I LOVE my 360. I play Forza 2, Oblivion, ChromeHounds, and the occasional battlefield 2 when I get the chance.....

However, just as recently as last week it seems that when I put my games in to play I'm required to "Update" my 360.

That's fine and all but I find myself having to update EVERY single day/time I play a game, specifically Forza 2 and Battlefield 2.

Now my question is:

*Is my 360 actually recieving these constant updates?

*Or is my 360 just updating and then losing the update after I'm done playing?

This is getting rediculous. What if my connection goes out? Is my 360 gonna stop me from playing these games from now on until I get the update?!

Anybody else have this problem? How did u solve it....PLEASE

Bandwidth on large scale is very expensive and I know this first hand as my job is a technology coordinator for a school district.  We also get major educational discounts for our items as well.  For a single T1 circuit we pay about $900 for it alone now if you add in all the transmission cost and such per month it pushs to cost up to about $3000.  We did get a small break when we added our second T1 and I created a multilink to bond to 2 T1's together.

Now for the next school year we are getting a much larger boost for about the same cost.  The way we were able to work that is all the schools in our area which is about 26 different school district went together to cut the cost down plus got grants from our state government to help build the infrastructure to support this.  In this we'll have 10Mbs of internet bandwidth.  Yes Microsoft has an unbelieveable amount of money to work with but they still have to watch their cost and work within the bandwidth of their area.  If the companies haven't built the infrastructure and not Microsoft then supporting that is a huge task.

HUH....I never thought of it that way. I guess I can see what your saying.

Actually battlefield 2 carries up to 24 players, but still....that's not enough. They should make dedicated servers. They'll probably be dedicated servers once they make PC and 360 games compatible with each other.
