Grim Dawn is easily the best on this list, by far. Been playing that game since Alpha, which is prob over 10-15 years now. Amazing game that is SOOOOO under the radar. You want a good ARPG, I implore you to try out Grim Dawn.
And though TECHNIALLY not an ARPG, Outriders was a good looter/shooter.
Lol, because, ya know, single player games like Red Dead 2, Silent Hill 2 remake, all the REmakes and RE7 and 8, Last of Us, Avowed, Witchfire, Dead Space remake, Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, all the AC games, all the Farcry games, Atomic Heart, Cyberpunk, God of War, God of War Ragnarok, Star Wars Outlaws, FF7 Remakes, Ghost of Tsushima, etc......They all bombed hardcore, right?
Glad it sounds like they took some good pages out of the Ghost of Tsusima handbook to lend a bit more fun into the Japanese theme of AC this time around. Also making stealth more interesting and fun sounds enjoyable. And it seems like they are doing gear a bit more like Ghost of Tsushima as well.
I planned on playing Naoe at every opportunity anyways, because I prefer stealth in AC games, so seeing that she can do quite a bit with her stealth, gadgets, and weapons reminds me a bit of Tenchu.
I am also glad to hear that it sounds like the AI is a bit smarter this time around, where they will trying to surround you, attack in unison, and even focus more on investigating rooftops and shadows if you leave too much evidence on bodies indicating that a shinobi is there.
I was actually expecting the game to bomb pretty hard because it seemed like it was just a weird back and forth character swapping AC game that would have been a bungled mess. So seeing reviews being mostly positive makes me optimistic.
I don't think I have played with, or known anyone who has played Wilds, that had anything good to say about the story. It was lackluster at best. It was slow, the same thing over and over, and forced you to walk and talk way too much to get to the monster fight we ALWAYS knew was coming at the end of every quest.
Gameplay is great, story was meh, performance is meh, graphics are meh.
Luckily the gameplay is what keeps me hooked.
My theory was that we all died at the end of LR Campaign, and finally got to go to Hunter Heaven, where we finally just get to hunt for eternity without the story.
Exactly what I was hoping for. The awesomeness of KF2, but with new, added features to make it even better. Skill trees, glory kills, moddable weapons and items, etc. All amazing additions.
I LOVED KF1 and KF2, so I have no doubt I will love KF3. I cannot wait for next month!!
