I've really been enjoying KCD. In some ways even more than The Witcher 3 which was the best RPG I've played in years.

I know it's not like AOE, but maybe you should try Anno.

You are not alone. It seems like every year I play less and less games. I still cares about games, I still buy them - actually more than before because now I have all the money I need for it, but the older I get, the more I have priorities that get before gaming. It's also hard to find games that get me hooked anymore, especially online games. Because most games shamelessly copy other games, it feels like you've experienced most games before. I used to play Diablo 2 A LOT, but couldn't get into Titan Quest and Torchlight because they felt too familiar. Now I've been too afraid of buying D3 because I'm afraid that I've had a burnout of Diablo-like games. CS:GO has finally gotten me back to multiplayer because of its familiar yet updated gameplay. I used to play a lot of CSS, but I simply grew tired of it. I'm also a huge BF fan but couldn't get into BF3, because I felt like I got dominated all the time. With GO it didn't take long before I learned the ropes, but I felt like I had so much more to master.

[QUOTE="Temesra"] In the 90's game like final fantasy , Alundra ,LandStalker , Illusion of Gaia ,Star Ocean or Ys The Oath of Felghana ,Zelda that was 2D cartoon cute for teens . What has change is the improved 2D and 3D graphics . So the graphics and other technologies have improved, those kind of games still exist, but they look a lot different mow than they used to. Now RPGs look like Morrowind ,Skyrim ,Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ,Dragon Age Origins ,Gothic 2 . So the mind set I have is thinking with the mindset of the old graphics thus look strange for me with most games now.

Nope. Morrowind, Dragon Age and Gothic 2 are Western games whereas Ys, Gaia etc. are Japanese. They are completely different genres. Western RPGs existed in the 2D era as well. In fact, they are older than Japanese RPGs.

[QUOTE="fenriz275"]

There just aren't and never were many Japanese style rpgs on pcs. Since most of the developers who make these these kind of rpgs are Japanese and pc gaming isn't very popular in Japan I doubt we'll see many in the future either. Which is fine by me since I've never really cared for jrpgs myself.

This is the only post educational in this thread like one other post here and was explain two times now these games are not popular for PC windows . I got that now !!! What I did ask and no reply was why it is not popular these types of games for PC or out side of Japan these types of games are not popular .

Most of the Asian RPGs on PC these days are MMOs. The market for them has grown so vastly that there's no room for singleplayer JRPGs. Besides, most PC gamers have always preferred Western RPGs because they offer more of the actual roleplaying. And the most educational posts in this thread were the ones that introduced you to Steam ;)

My biggest gripe with Origin is that I haven't been able to play in offline-mode. Whenever I'm not connected to internet, Origin forgets my password and won't let me log in.
