WoW.

With GW I was often frustrated with buggy, vague, or impossible quests and at times bored to tears (especially while travelling).

WoW is superior to GW in every capacity except perhaps graphics, which I think are equal (although as far as creative design GW is lacking somewhat).

With any good MMO, though, you need to have friends play with you. Either RL friends or make some friends in a guild or w/e.

When/where did Blizz say they were making a new MMO?

A second fantasy-themed MMO would be redundant, a World of Starcraft, however... *drools* I've been waiting and wating for a good sci-fi MMORPG (Hellgate was SUCH a sorry disappointment)

Do you think they'd make another? Wouldn't they be cutting into their own market of subscribed players by doing so? I would be surprised if Blizz makes another MMO in the next 10 years.

-=HYPERION=-

by Dan Simmons

amirite?

"It is rare to find a series of books as imaginative, adventurous, and thought provoking as the Hyperion Cantos Series by Dan Simmons. In this series you explore worlds settled by humanity after the "Big Mistake of '08", as well as the Void Which Binds, orbital forests, and the Datasphere. You will become familiar with technologies such as the Hawking Drive, terraforming, deathwands, cryogenic fugue, Schrön loops, farcaster terminexes, the Gideon Drive, the fatline, and time entropy fields. You will meet the AI, the Ousters, the Shrike, and the Others. You will learn lessons from John Keats, Virgil, Ummon, Buddha, Aenea, and mankind's future epic poet Martin Silenus. You will realize failings of current organized religion and how these trappings could ultimately manifest themselves. You will become aware of the language of the dead, the language of the living, and the music of the spheres. You will finish the series wishing there was more, much more..."

In 2007 it was predicted that a number of MMO's would challenge WoW's supremacy - not so. Some people are saying the same thing now in 2008.

Do you think there are any upcoming titles that stand a chance? Is Age of Conan and Warhammer Online really offering enough improvements and quality content to satsify those of us spoiled by Blizzard?

I hope so, I would enjoy some variety in the MMORPGs, but I really don't have faith in other gaming companies to deliver the quality and support needed to challenge Blizz.

It's an RTS but has some RPG elements.

It's also the greatest PC game ever made.
