I hope you industry reporters are pushing to find out what console(s) this will be on. As happy as I want to be about the game being made, I'm terribly worried that it will be a Nintendo exclusive.
My first console was the Sears knock-off version of the Atari 2600. I had an original PS1 which I played to death thanks to games like Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid.
Long-time fans of the first game know Ubisoft didn't take any responsibility for its failure despite not promoting it virtually at all and for releasing it in the holiday season against AAA titles, including pitting it against one of their own AAA games that was released at the same time. What I fear now is that if the sequel ever gets made, Ubisoft appears to be setting up in advance to call it a failure by having sat on it for so long. I wish Ubisoft would either give BG&E2 full support so it can be the best game it can be or just squash the hopes of the fans of the game for good.
@HonorOfGod I can agree with that. If they showed us that the next gen will bring significant improvements, then I would feel better about saving my pennies for new hardware. I just hope it's going to be about more than prettier ways of getting on Facebook and Twitter.
@DukeMagnum So, you want new hardware just for the sake of it being new? It feels to me that very few games have pushed the hardware we have. When developers approach limits in the games they are making because the hardware can't handle what they want to do, then I think it's time for the next gen. The only times I've really heard that have been about the DVD drive in the 360 - limits were anticipated from day 1.
@HonorOfGod I know they're older, but other than the Xbox 360 needing a Blu-ray drive, I'm fine with the current gen. I was ready for the PS2 and the PS3, but I don't feel that the next gen will be a leap forward. Maybe a bunny-hop, but not a leap.
