I just recently purchased my PS3 (holiday bundle for $200=great deal) and I quickly picked up several games and a couple of extra controllers on the cheap. I am now regretting my purchase due to not being able to play PS3 games on PS4. I know everyone will be all over the, "just keep your ps3...blah, blah, blah, but I have no space for another game system. I have O.C.D really bad (medically diagnosed) and I cannot handle multiple game systems and especially cords everywhere. I was planning to buy The Last of Us, Battlefield 3 or 4, and several other games, but have now cancelled all of my preorders and will not be buying any more games for it. I was even considering some movies on PSN, but apparently those will not work on PS4 either. I do understand they needed to drop the B/C due to the X86 architecture of the new system, but it sucks for many of us with game collections.

Since PSN will not be a part of PS4, how long until they pull the plug on it alltogether? How long will the Last of US online last? $60 for a 12 hour game and a few months of online is not worth it IMHO. Once PSN goes, there goes my Bad Company, Netflix, and most every other game I have (since there is no split screen on most games). Seriously considering selling the whole lot and being done with it. Extremely frustrated.

Uhh, I really don't understand people who get so vexed over this whole backwards compatibility issue. Just keep your PS3. If it bothers you that much to have it outside, just box it up and put it in your closet. Problem solved.

My favorite RPGs this gen are:

1. FFXIII-2

2. Ni No Kuni

3. Fallout 3

4. FFXIII

5. Resonance of Fate

6. White Knight Chronicles

7. Mass Effect 2

The WKC games have always intigued me. I almost got WKC2 because it was cheap and comes with both games. I truly think the reviews scared me off a bit and I'm kind of ashamed to admit that.

I thought WKC1 was better than 2. I finished 1 but lost interest with 2. Not sure why actually. WKC is one of those games where on the surface it looks like it has all the elements of a good RPG, i.e. good story, decent characters, good gameplay, tons of customization options for your characters and their mechs, huge variety of side-quests to do, even great online multiplayer mode where you could create your own town, lots of interesting towns to visit, etc., but it just misses something. And I don't know what that proverbial "something" is. It just feels slugish and slow, the way the plot is advanced seems...uninteresting, the pacing works against story, in a way. It all seems bland somehow. All the good elements never truly click together to form a cohesive product that could catch your attention and keep it.

Are you just going along following the storey and skipping sidequests?

Or are you doing all side quests before following the story to next area?

Or plan on doing main story then going back and doing side quests?

Just curious. Share your style.

I am a completionist. I do all of the side-quests as soon as they are available.

The trailer looked amazing, but man, do we need yet another Big Boss game? I want to play as Solid Snake again. I find him a much more compelling character than Big Boss. I would loved to see what Solid Snake was like in his younger years.

[QUOTE="wooooode"]shoryuken.com and totalmortalkombat.com are good places to start. They have forums and such that will get you started.mrmusicman247
Exactly this.

Actually no. This is the best site for MK related gameplay info:

http://testyourmight.com/forum/content.php

Tom Brady, the best MK9 player right now (in addition to being MK9 tester, having worked for NRS since January) is a regular member there and he posts character specific guides.

Reportedly it's already back in Japan. Should be back in North America by tomorrow, which means it could be anytime now. Can't wait.

So far I'm liking the female characters the best (for more reasons than one ;)).

Kitana is my favorite at the moment. The Pretty Kick (down, back, X) is a good lead in or finisher to a lot of combos. Jumping in with an overhead, landing one of her regular combos, then the Pretty Kick into the Fan Slash and a Fan Throw is awesome.

Jade has a lot of good moves, too. The different uses of her staff in different moves and her speed (much like Kitana) are good advantages. I used to main Scorpion and Liu Kang in the older games. So far I'm liking Kitana, Jade, Stryker, Kabal, and...ahh, hell with it. I like 'em all. There are only a few characters that I don't really care for / need to get better with (Smoke, Jax, Noob, Kano).

I'm loving the game though. I haven't put much time into MvC3 since I got it, but so far I definitely like MK better. It's a great return to form for the series and the best fighting game I've played in a long time. :)

Isn't Pretty Kick down, forward, X?
