[QUOTE="Raiko101"]I'm still anticipating picking up a copy of this. I don't expect the online section to be too popular, but i'm liking the concept of the track editor. I was put off by the low camera in the prequel though; Race Driver Create & Race and sold it days after getting it.so_haiThey fixed the camera, but I think the track editor is clunky. The racing is awesome for a handheld though. I really recommend the campaign experience. Awesome, i'll definately look into getting a copy sooner then. I'm sitting on a gift voucher and was going to pick up a DS game soon anyways.
[QUOTE="Raiko101"][QUOTE="UT_Wrestler"] I'm guessing you were too young to play super mario 64 when it came out and are judging it by modern standards. It was actually the first game to have a "camera". All other 3d games before it were either first-person or had a camera teathered to your back with lousy tank-like controls. Super Mario 64 broke free of those and influenced nearly every 3rd-person action game to follow it.UT_WrestlerI'm with sofaking_bob. I bought Mario 64 when it first came out and all the camera was new and had it's positives, it was still a pain half the time. It's the most frustrating Mario platformer i've ever played. Everything has to start somewhere. You never hear people say Wolfenstein 3d sucked even though it doesn't have the slick controls or AI of a game like Halo or Half-Life, and that's because everyone recognizes the fact that Halo and Half-Life wouldn't even exist if not for wolfenstein 3d. Now take Super Mario 64, okay sure it doesn't have as flawless of a camera as a modern 3rd-person game, but if Super Mario 64 was never made, I bet pretty much every 3rd person action game would still control like the original tomb raider, yikes!Probably qouting his post has made it seem as if I hate the game, but I don't. I enjoy it enough to have bought it for both the N64 and DS. I know how important it is to 3D platforming. The N64 pad itself was designed specifically around this game. However, I still recognise how confused that camera could become, or how fixed angles often blinded you at times. It's something that has been brushed up on with subsequent releases, but that game in particular was mostly annoying for that sole reason. The game is still great though.

UT_Wrestler is totally right, Super Mario 64 created the standards for every single platforming game that followed, and its camera isn't a pain as you say. I've never had troubles with it and the game is an awesome masterpiece.
I simply cannot believe that statement lol.[QUOTE="sofaking_bob"]you guys all hate like.. the same games... you should start a league for me, goldeneye was a biggie... i have epilepsy and that's one of like 2 games that have ever triggeed tremors for me... i think it's cause the screen flashes when you get shot. also, mario 64... don't get me wrong, it's a great game and i love me some mario, but i didn't understand why people were giving it 10 after 10, the camera screwed me over more times than i could count and finally, WoW... i've played it and that's about as far as it goes... i've got friends who perform sexual favors for gold in return and have 5 to 10 characters leveled up to the 60s... i just can't get into it, but maybe it's because i have other responsibilities and can't be tied to my computer all the time... just most of it.UT_WrestlerI'm guessing you were too young to play super mario 64 when it came out and are judging it by modern standards.
