Seeing as I own Chinatown wars, i'm not too interested in COP. Not to mention Ubisoft hasn't exactly had a quality track record on Nintendo consoles at all. I'm quite interested in Dementium, although i've still got to play the first one Legend of Kay looks pretty darn beautfil, but i'll wait until the reviews are in before passing full judgement.

I've rather a single wide screen in which controls are solely implemented on the screen. That way developers could create as many or as few buttons as required for a particular game.

Here's a similar question to the thread starter's question. Why was the original Playstation refered to as the PSX? Not to be confused with the actual PSX, which was released nearly 10 years later.

I thought this was between the first games in each series before reading the first post. Oops. Anyways, I voted Resident Evil. I think it has 4 strong entries to the series, wheras Silent Hill really only has 2. I'm definately against RedDraco66's opinion too. Resident Evil 1 and 2 are both classics, even with the poor story lines. The plot has this B-movie like feel to it, much like the Dawn of the Dead series, and were generally scary and chalenging for their time. Most Resident Evil fans consider either of those two games better than either Resident Evil 4 or 5. Personally I prefer Resident Evil 4, but I think 1 & 2 are both better than 5.

I'm not really up for any remakes that really enhance or alter the plots of the series in anyway. The remakes on the DS are really there to cater towards fans who never got to play the older games in the series. Although the graphics have been ramped up and new features have been added, the game's story and progress remains practically identical. That's something i'm hoping for with Final Fantasy V and 6 at least. I really don't mind if they're portable or not, althought FFIII and IV are suprisingly more enjoyable on the handheld, simply because you can pop in and out of gameplay in short bursts and fit it around other activities. As for a Final Fantasy VII remake however, my opinion differs completely. Unless there was a complete overhaul in terms of gameplay as well as graphics, with gameplay similar to that of FFXII, i'd not likely be interested. FFVII needs more than a graphical upgrade if it's to recreate an experience anywhere near as exciting as when I first played the original, and thus it doesn't necessarily have to be remade on a home console.

I think they meant Team Ninja has no experience with the Wiimote, wheras Retro knew how to use a standard controller. Anyways, I don't doubt Team Ninja. I mean they know know how to put a challenging game of high quality together. My only thoughts it that this game just doesn't appeal to me at all. The gameplay doesn't completely make sense to me yet, but i'm not too bothered about looking further into it either.

There should have been an option for "Neither game has a deep storyline".

[QUOTE="TheColbert"][QUOTE="bigM10231"]

donkey kong is owned by rare which was bought by microsoft thats why you see n64 ports on a 360

MonsieurX
Completely Wrong. Rare just made a lot of the games like DK Country, DK64. Not sure why they have not made a new plaformer, I hope there is some news at the upcoming E3.

Rare is now owned by Nintendo so they wouldn't let them do a new DK for the Wii and Nintendo would never let Rare do a DK for the 360

That statement makes no sense. Donkey Kong is a Nintendo Franchise and has had releases on Nintendo consoles long since Nintendo sold Rare to Microsoft. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Jungle Climber being two examples.

There is a Donkey Kong platformer, based loosely on the SNES series, on the DS. Check it out!

Coming from some one studying game development and trying to break nto the industry, the thread starter sounds clueless themselves. Developers are restricted by both time and budget. There is only so much they can do in a given time. These factors heavily impact a games quality and length. Also, if something goes wrong, it's time wasted they can't recover and the game will suffer as a result. I know how annoying it is when particular games have obvious flaws, but when you don't understand the restrictions in place and how much money it costs to make these games you'd not call any developer clueless.
