In what world could they consider a game that took a survival horror game and made it a mindless shooter... a "big success?" I miss the fixed camera angles that added suspense... and the need to organize your inventory.
@Agent-M Well you gotta think about it, no matter what they did, they had to. They'd been at the peak for too long. World of Warcraft was an amazing game, so that threw out ideals for RPGs, and its not easy to come up with new ideas for it after several expansions. Diablo III was destined to be praised, but not be as good as the previous two (Lets face it, there's only so much to do with a dungeon crawler, they didn't need a third). And then there's starcraft, which also is a game that is rather hard to build off of. They screwed themselves.
Finally, a company looks through the money and says "hey, lets do something for the people who give us the money for once." Complain about it going f2p, and having micro-transactions all you want. This is damn good news.
@jayrocks111 Yeah, that was the first thing that went through my head... "What about players who JUST bought the 3DS?" Surprising? Nah, all these game companies seem to be getting at these days is money...
@Atheosis Nah, looks like Call of Duty to me. Then again, that started happening with Reach with the loadouts in general. Such a shame to see a titan in the shooter genre fall to its knees before another titan that is seriously becoming way too overrated. Guess that's what happens when a game gets new developers though. Still a shame.
