Many were skeptical of upon hearing that Rob Zombie had decided to take on the task of new version of John Carpenter's suspenseful horror film and many were anticipating what the final outcome would be,so...here it is!
"Halloween" has hit theatres across the land and many have seen what Rob Zombie has done and many enjoyed it more than the ones who did not.
Rob Zombie has done well in bringing out a new take on what made Micheal Myers become the evil the world knows him as and did so by simply taking a deeper more descriptive look at what Micheal's family was like and what he had to be put through and the punishment and abuse he was put through, the verbal abuse from home and the physical abuse from his experience at school.
He lets you in to the mind of Micheal Myers and shows you how the evil was put into Micheal and what fed it until it came out with the obvious results with his murderous rage.
After the Halloween night murders he takes you into the mental facility with Micheal after he is taken away and you go along through the experience Micheal had to go through there at such a young age and you can see the effect that his mental mindset and being inside the facility has on him and his remaining family.
Then you see what Micheal has become as a much older patient and how he has become more silent and unresponsive to his surroundings and how he ultimately escapes to return home.
From there you can see some familiar scenes from the original that Zombie has done differently in his own way and they turned out to be good and you go through more of Laurie Strode's family life more and you actually see how her parents were.
And then you have Dr.Sam Loomis, the man who could sense the evil growing within Micheal, but was unsuccessful in convincing others to try and heal Micheal before it was too late and the man who treated Micheal through all those years within the mental facility who has to again try and convince others of the danger they in with the return of Micheal Myers.
On his murder path to Laurie you see the cold and rageful evil come out with every murder as he stalks and kills through Haddonfield and the encounters he has with familiar people from his life.
Rob Zombie has put a new look and feel to Micheal Myers and it has become a little more darker then before and the actors that portray the characters played them well as Malcolm McDowell does well to the Sam Loomis character, not better than Donald Pleasant, but he did the role good,Daeg Faerch who plays young Micheal did well in his role as well, and Scout Taylor Compton did well as the main focus of Micheal Laurie Strode, she can definitely scream good, and while she was in the film for a little bit Sheri Moon Zombie{Rob's wife} did a fine job as Micheal's mother as she went through the change with Micheal.
The one part of the film that could possibly be the talk of alot of discussions concerning this film is the ending, after witnessing what is one of the most shocking ending's to a film I've seen I was mainly speechless and had alot of thoughts going through my mind.
So the bottom line is that if you want to see a good horror film,a new version of a horror film or both,Halloween is a good movie to go see as Rob Zombie makes a good film that was alot different from his first 2 films "House Of 1,000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects".
