Okami. Mostly for the great presentation. It was like an eyegasm, little invisible tendrils of pure pleasure reached out from the screen and stroked my eyeballs. Oh, and Mrs. Orange did a raging demon on her oven to make me food, that was cool.
God of War series. These are just epic games. That's all I have to say, they just are. Both games were less of an experience, and mor elike being part of a major event.
God Hand. The hands down best action game ever made. The combination of humor and white knuckled action was incredible, and the ease with which it rode the fine line between challenging and cheap was admirable. The game actually got tougher as you did better, and easier as you did worse. Very, very good game.
Zone of the Enders 2. Besides Geometry Wars 2, this is the sequel that stands out to me as being the most improved from the original of all time. They fixed what was broken, didn't fix what wasn't broken, and added a whole bunch of fanservice and asskickery he likes of which is rarely seen. The best mech game I've ever played.
Final Fantasy X. A great addition to the long standing series, and my favorite JRPG of the last generation. JRPGs this gen have had some great games, but I think we have yet to have our FFX of this gen.
BlazBlue is an amazing game and it screams old school Japanese fighter like no other but the characters just are too quirky and yet shallow to compare with the Street Fighter characters.shabuliaShallow characters? Wandering karate-gi dude. Carefree rival karate-gi dude. Evil karate-gi dude. Wizened old teacher of karate-gi dudes. Joke character karate-gi dude. School-girl. Big stupid Russian wrestler. Jungle dude. Indian dude. Bruce Lee. I mean, seriously. Wut?
lol, I love when people make threads like these... gamespot, nor does any other gaming review site or magazine, have the manpower to review every single game that comes out... obviously SF4 is going to be much more popular than blazblue... keep your fingers crossed, you may get a review, but I wouldn't hold your breath...mfp16
IGN does. Hell, they review every bloody thing. Even weekly TV shows, DVD releases and comic books. It's just Gamespot lately, amongst the larger sites, that seems to find it impossible to stay up to date and relevant on their reviews outside of the absolute biggest releases. After the post CBS gutting, it seems they just never bothered filling back in the open positions. Hence the irrelevant mess we have now. If not for the top of the line community package, (and I mean that, have you tried posting at 1up? Or worse, IGN. IGN has the best forums 1999 has to offer, it's just pathetic) GS wouldn't be worth visiting, and I feel genuine pity for Total Access members.
[QUOTE="TriangleHard"]Just to make things clear, if anyone fired Jeff, it was CNet, /not/ Eidos. Due to pressure from Eidos, yes.Eidos went too far and actually invaded reviewer's job. They got Jeff fired. Obviously rest of the reviewers are going to take this little more personally since it can happen to them too.

Firstly, this blogger comes off as an incredible douche, even by internet standards.Grammaton-Cleric
Well, it was said in the OP that it's thought he's with Edge magazine, so like everyone who writes in that mag, he's likely a huge attention whoring poser who is more about playing a character for a certain crowd, than an honest journalist. Actually, these are typical things. More companies should be doing review embargoes, honestly. Look what happened to SNK with King of Fighters 12. No review embargo. Non-review code that doesn't even have functioning online in it was used by OPM and OXM as the basis for early reviews, because print magazines need to get reviews out super early to be relevant against all the major gaming web sites. Stuff like that is why these companies use such a tactic.
Though the one used by Eidos in particular is kinda fishy looking, but as Grammaton said, having played a demo, it seems rather unwarranted, and a touch stupid. No wonder Eidos was bought out, much like Sega, they're painfully inept.
