New Twisted Metal - A Little Worried

I just want to start off by saying I am a huge Twisted Metal fan. I own every game in the series. I'm sure the new game will be fantastic but I wonder if it will deliver on the basic things I expect.

I was never a big fan of Black but the gameplay was great. There is a few things nagging me about this game even as awesome as it's looking. So far multiplayer is being whored around and stealing the show with all these new announcements. And rightfully so in today's day and age but I still want more information on the single player game. From what I'm seeing there's only four characters announced to play as in single player; Sweet Tooth, Preacher, Mr. Grimm, and Darkside.

I was never really a fan of Black's interpretation of Sweet Tooth. I miss his TM2 and Head-On look where he was a painted crazed clown.

I just don't like Preacher that much.

Mr. Grimm is quite awesome. However, is he that dude riding the bike in these new trailers or is he going to be the Grim Reaper? I loved him as the Grim Reaper and I also loved his TM2 and Head-On look.

I liked Darkside when it was Mr. Ash from TM1. He was just badass. I hate Dollface.

My next issue. From what I've read so far (at least on GiantBomb), you will only be able to play as the four characters listed above. I don't know if that has been confirmed 100% but that will bother me if it's true. I liked it better when you could choose all the different characters. Also, many other vehicles have been seen in videos but no info on the drivers. All we keep seeing is clowns or any other factions driving around. For example, Axel was revealed the other day and Sweet Tooth was between the wheels. Has the Axel character returned or just the vehicle? If it's only the four characters and their factions that are available to play as that will be a big disappointment for me. And if the new thing is having the different characters driving in other character vehicles, I don't know how much I like that either.

Next comes challenge/deathmatch mode. When I was a kid I would play in this mode against the AI all the time. I didn't always have someone to play with and I loved just driving around causing mass destruction. This can obviously support split screen play but will we be able to play by ourselves? I hope so. Also, if this mode is included and there are only the four characters, who will we be able to compete against? Just the other three characters and their factions? I hope not.

If the single player story only supports the four characters above then I hope other characters are available or unlocked in an offline mode like challenge/deathmatch. I'm really hoping to see Minion, Thumper, Warthog, Roadkill, and Mr. Slam but so far I haven't heard of any of these characters making a comeback.

I understand that multiplayer seems to be taking over the gaming world, however, this series always had simple mechanics. As long as they bring great car combat gameplay with an offline challenge/deathmatch mode like they have had in the past I will be one jolly S.O.B.

I'm sure the game will have great gameplay and great multiplayer, I just hope to see a little more.

My PS3 Collection Is Complete For Now

The whole reason I bought a PS3 was for the new Twisted Metal set to come out next year. Although there were a few games I had my eye on that were PS3 exclusive. And I now own all of those. Resistance 1 and 2, Killzone 2, and Uncharted 1 and 2. And since I'm a huge Grand Theft Auto fan, I bought Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. I might as well. I own every GTA game on each platform.

I now own all the systems of this era.

Twisted Metal was announced at E3. Since I have all the Twisted Metal games I decided to get a PS3. I'm not really a fan of the PS3 but I can use it for PS3 exclusives like Twisted Metal and Agent. I also got Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4 to hold me over. I must say I'm very impressed. But for most multiplatform games, I'll just get them for my Xbox 360. However, reliving classic games on the PS3 is awesome. I do own the original three Spyro games and being able to play them again is a blast.

Completed The Metroid Prime Trilogy

I have just completed the Metroid Prime Trilogy. I completed each game on "normal" difficulty. What an AMAZING series. But it hurts my brain, lol. It'll be a while until I play through them again on the other difficulty settings but I was sad to see the Prime series come to an end after completing Prime 3. The story was epic. I still have to play Metroid Prime: Hunters.
