@ferna1234: Right? The developers somehow came to the understanding that every single boss needs a bonfire after you beat him but still put a bonfire at the start of almost each new area. the latter makes sense, but not combined. it's so often you beat a boss, light a fire, walk 5 steps and there's another bonfire that makes absolutely no sense. dragonslayer armour and archives, vordt and undead settlement, vordt and dancer of the boreal valley, crystal sage and cathedral of the deep (though there are like 3 enemies inbetween there). and then there are places where they did it right, like after beating the abyss watchers there's no bonfire at the start of the catacombs and other big areas that center around one bonfire with multiple shortcuts (archives, cathedral of the deep, dungeon, pontiff sylvan). it's a weird inconsistancy.
@DarkCaptain3: i only have that issue when the friend i want to summon or to summon me is largely above or below my level. yesterday i was helping a friend (he 24, me 59) and it took like 10-15 minutes before he could see my sign. my other friend at level 70 he couldn't find at all. then i have another friend at level 355 (i know, i know) which wanted to help me and we were waiting for at least 30 minutes and nothing (he started a new character after that ;) ).
That being said connecting to friends close to my level is no issue at all and summoning happens in less than a minute.
"easier to get Rosaria's Fingers"? what's easier than walking up to her, joining and getting the covenant item? do players now start the game with as Rosaria's Fingers? I don't get it. Or is it referring to the Sirris-questline, and that the two no longer interfere with each other (that would be a crazy casualization of the game and somewhat offensive to a lot of players).
and i assume "adjusted" means Blues now have more range (as opposed to less range) to connect? i remember the 1st weekend i was summoned all the time as a sentinel/blade i had 31 ears in 3 days (and only one from a silver knight). Last weekend i started a new character (so she's in the same level range as my other character was) and she barely ever gets summoned. i do have like 7 ears now, but that's including the ones found in the game (2 or 3?). i imagine there's a few players less now playing than the weekend before but the game's only out 2 weeks now so the playerbase must still be massive (even more so hearing that this game broke all souls-sale-records). Then again i guess most players don't start a 2nd character in the 2nd week and instead keep on going with their 1st for a while, most of which are probably out of range. i don't know. Anyone else having problems being summoned through the covenants?
@untouchables111: apart from the last lines about "true gamers" i totally agree. trophies increase the lifetime of games for me and offer new challenges, plus 100%ing a game looks nice for yourself. i don't think though that trophies get checked by other people. if i get a friend request i sometimes take a quick look at that person's trophy list to see which games we have in common. but there's no one that regularly check your trophies, other than yourself.
but i do care about the game 1st and wether i like it or not determines if i take the time to go for annoying trophies. it's true for some games that reaching 100% trophies means i'm done with it and will likely never play it again. but there are other games that i like so much i play them long after 100%ing them (dark souls, resident evil and games with a fun multiplayer like uncharted or last of us). on the other hand there might be trophies so hard to achieve that you really have to be actively playing the game and if you let the game rest and move onto other games it becomes more likely that you'll never get that trophy. i have that with vanquish (ps3) for example (great game btw). i have all trophies except one for completing the last challenge of a series of challenges. comparable to beating ninja gaiden on the highest difficulty this is a trophy you can only get by being 100% concentrated, not making any mistakes and being absolutely amazing at the game. i never found out wether i had what it takes, i tried a few times but failed and moved on to other games thinking i'll come back for it someday. i know now i never will because the amount of time it takes getting used to it again is too much of an obstacle for me (that and ps3 controllers just feel weird now compared to the ds4). trophies can also be actually inspiring to play games in way you didn't think of. i remember dead space had a trophy for beating it by using only the plasma cutter (your 1st weapon), combine that with your impossible run and you have a very nice challenge. that trophy inspired me to play other games the same way even if they didn't offer a trophy for it (like beating re5 on professional with handguns only, no mathilda). so yeah trophies are definitely a cool thing that can prolong a game's life and therefore the fun (and frustration) you have with it.
@jimbil: i never even considered buying a hand-held and i told all my friends that were interested that they would play it for a month or two and then never touch it again, which was the case too. why would you need that small screen when you already have a ps3/4 with a big tv and a nice couch? it never made sense to me. personally i don't use busses or trains, but even if i did there's PVZ and enough other stuff you can play on your phone if you need to entertain yourself for half an hour and there are also magazines and books.
i mean, or are there seriously people playing a handheld at their home on their couch while they could play on their ps4? So no, i couldn't think of a single reason, man. i hope you get a good price for it.
