@wkadalie: I do actually. Of course i will also finish the story a few times (usually at least once hard and crushing) but i am really excited about the MP and that's where i invest most of my time, as i did in uncharted 2 and 3, which had excellent MP in my opinion. Plus i got a couple of friends that love to play it too since uncharted 2, we're all pretty psyched. More so because there isn't any really interesting competitive shooter MP on ps4 yet (we don't like FPS). I'm not so excited about the down-mechanic they took over from factions MP, because it doesn't fit into the fast-pace MP of uncharted in my opinion (while it's totally perfect for factions).
Uncharted MP is huge if you didn't know, with countless players doing top 10 kills-videos, which can be viewed in the MP-menu, players tips and strategies and a community that is very much alive. If you prefer TPS over FPS like i do, there aren't a lot of games that can deliver MP like the uncharted-series can. If you like the story mode, you should definitely give the MP a try.
Edit: I do agree though, that Factions MP is amazing.
Everybody sure loves to bash re6. I wonder how many people in the comments actually played it. No, it wasn't survival horror, re4 wasn't either, still everybody loves it. It's still an excellent shooter, with about 4x as much content as any other shooter being released nowadays and re6 was build for coop (just like 5) so you can play the whole story with a friend and personally i'm a huge fan of coop games. re6 also had some interesting new features, like the crossover feature.
I think it's funny that a quality game like re6 can just be totally reduced to trash by a few reviews and thousands of mindless gamers who bought their season pass for the hate-train, but i guess that's the world we live in. And a game like mass effect 2, - which story is as follows: search for allies, find allies, do final mission, done - gets praised by everyone like it's the best rpg ever.
Now i wouldn't go as far as calling re6 one of my favourite games, but it's still a very good game. And that comes from someone who is a big fan of all oldschool re-titles. While the old re-games all tickled that sense of overcoming the odds by yourself by intelligently managing your resources (although i find that people are exaggerating a lot about this, because i finish all the old re-games on the hardest difficulties with plenty of magnum bullets and grenade rounds left), the newer games simply concentrated on skills, like playing together, planning the most survivable routes through rooms, how to defeat certain bosses and it's still very much about inventory management, just like the old games.
Oh well, i could write endlessly about this. The fact is this: the only reason re6 was officially received as "crap" is because of the expectations everyone had for it, because of its name.
If you like third-person shooters and like horror elements you will very much like re6.
@davillain-: Me too, except it's hooked to the same TV as my ps4 ;) I barely ever play ps3 anymore, but i could never sell it either. Too many fond memories. I thought about trading in some games, since my ps3 librabry is pretty substantial and there are a lot of games i will probably never ever play again (mostly rpgs like fallout 3 or dragon age, which take a long time to complete). But, oh, decisions, decisions...
Since it's on sale i wanna encourage all horror genre fans to get until dawn. it will be an amazing experience the 1st time you play it, best to play with a couple of friends so you can drive each other crazy about the decisions you have to make (that was half of the fun for me at least). Make 1 or 2 nights out of it with some good junkfood, beer or whatever drugs are legal in your country. Subsequent playthrough will be A LOT less interesting sadly, because even though you can make different decisions the game pretty much plays out the same every time (again that 's only my experience). But the 1st playthrough will be all you need to be happy about your purchase believe me.
@draganot: There IS a real-life gwent set. there's a video on this site showing danny unpack it. it was part of the special edition of the 1st expansion if i'm correct.
Towards your points i can only say i had more fun with the Witcher than i have with fallout, haven't finished the latter though. The Witcher came at exactly the right time. I just had my 1st burn-out on bloodborne and a game so rich of story was exactly what i needed after bloodborne, which is completely focused on the gameplay and has a story that is mostly founded on rumors based on item descriptions. Gameplaywise the Witcher had nothing on bloodborne, but at that moment (after playing bloodborne for 3 months straight) it was perfect to just have some cutscenes and dialogue options.
I enjoy fallout too, but the story doesn't drive me forward at all. Since resident evil 0 came out i haven't touched it at all. I'm still gonna finish it and i definitely have fun with it but there's little excitement compared to bloodborne or the witcher.
Lastly, what i very much appreciate about both games (or all 3 inc. bloodborne) is that you have to craft your own character by focussing on the aspects you want to, which makes me care about them way more (e.g. MY geralt) than i care about, say crane from dying light who eventually becomes the very same character all players play, because you'll just unlock all possible skills with him.
