sure i understand it's sad for a lot of people that e3 is cancelled, especially those that put a lot of work towards it, but why is every publisher so cryptic about "exploring other ways"? just put your e3 presentation and/or trailers on youtube. done. i would welcome that and a lot of gamers around the globe as well.
@videogameninja: i agree. even though i am also a huge fan of all of from software's action-rpgs since demon's souls, i feel bad for Nioh always getting compared and that there is not a single article out there not referencing Dark Souls in one way or another when talking about Nioh. for me it definitely has its own identity, certainly through the loot based and mission-style gameplay and the layers of mechanics.
I know it's a really early question since the game just came out, but i saw something i don't understand.
yesterday rob and nate of psaccess streamed some gameplay and during the boss fight at the end his yokai-corrupted hatchets talked and said something like "i will take all of your treasures". there was a pop-up info on the left side saying 'your weapon talks to you'. does anyone know more about this mechanic? neither nate nor rob reacted to it, nate being busy with the boss and rob with the chat i assume. could be that it gets explained in the game, but i have a feeling this will be a pretty subtle mechanic.
The thing is if you nail the gameplay the story really doesn't matter. At least that's how i see it, though i'm sure that there are more narrative-driven gamers out there.
I'm really excited, a couple more hours of work and then it's time to bring out the dual blades!
(...after an hour in the character creation screen).
@DuoMaxwell007: agree. now i would get the fact that a cinema is temporarily closing down to prevent the employees from getting infected, but not releasing a movie is a different thing. i guess they're looking at it financially, it is Disney after all.
