[QUOTE="Arbiterisl33t69"][QUOTE="DrTrafalgarLaw"] I wasn't on System wars in 07'-'08. My point still stands, there is no substitute for real versus or co-op on the couch. Half the fun is taunting/mocking or just styling with your friends face to face. :P This whole "stay connected with friends'' crap is a poor subsitute for a gaming session with friends coming over.

DrTrafalgarLaw

You act as if anyone using party chat is some socially awkward nerd. Do you realize not everyone can come over all the time? That's what party chat is for. I party chat with people I know IRL. Not everyone lives close to each other. "Invite women and friends and have a goooood time" Wtf are you talking about here, lol. You HAVE to make little get-togethers to play fvcking video games? What would the women do? This ain't a commercial, IRL most wouldn't be very entertained, and the closest I've done a "video game party" which sounds awfully lame was a drinking game with Mario Party.

You'd be suprised how hanging out and playing videogames can be fun, who said women don't play too...? That's a borderline sexist assumption. I don't know how you grew up, but I held parties like that all the time. The people I regularily play online with are friends that also come over. I don't see the benefit of talking to people while you're not in the same game. Might as well hang out together in person. Or is America so detached that you need party chat to maintain friendships? I can understand if you live in different states but I can't imagine all your friends living far off having to need party chat.

Look at Nintendo. They purposely drove the get-together style of gaming and have had succes in a lot of offline multiplayer games. Microsoft is just cashing in on the fact not many people want to invite over friends, either because they know their fanbase has almost no real-life friends or because they know their fanbase doesn't like to get together in person.

When you and your friends grow up and have families it becomes a little bit harder to go out to play games. Try getting married and having four kids and trying to pull that one. Obviously you and your friends don't have responsibilities yet which gives me a good indication of your age. Also gas is ridiculously priced. I put what I pay for a years worth of live into my tank in a week and a half. I'd gladly pay the fee to play online with my friends over paying for extra gas to go over to their house or have them come over where there will be things like kids getting in the way.

[QUOTE="RealGamrPSWii60"]Absolutely not. If you want my opinion, the PS2 was overrated. The DC was my favorite console of that Gen until the Xbox came out. The only reason my PS2 got any playtime was because if the vast RPG library it had. Other than that I wasn't particularly impressed with the PS2. Not like I was with the DC.Panzer_Zwei

So it was your favourite system for 2 years out of the entire generation then? Guess you didn't liked playing a lot of new games.

Regardless how underrated or overrated people think the DC was, it stopped getting regular releases at the end of 2011- early 2012. And of course it stopped getting benchmark titles earlier than that.

About all you could do by then is collect and play what was already available for the system, and neither the system nor its software had the same generational progression like the other system.

The Dreamcast had a lot of great games, but they stopped progressing at one point. Even with it comes to arcade shooting and action titles, which was one of the DC strong points, the PS2 surpassed it eventually, since it got more inventive and evolved titles.

I don't see how the Xbox taking the DCs place as favorite system means that I only enjoyed the DC for two years or that I don't like new games. That makes no sense. I enjoyed new games regularly for all four of that gens systems. I still buy and play games for them today. Just the Xbox became my preferred system of choice.

Saw some one mention mechassault 3. I second that. Also Crimson Skies. Not sure if it got a sequel on PC or not.

360 fans are mostly kids and bro gamers so there's nothing surprising. If you want a more mature audience try PS3 or PC.kuraimen
Good call. I never heard screaming kids when I played TF2 a couple years back on my brothers PC. Must have been my imagination, or there's secret cross platform play on TF2 that no one knows about. I would have heard screaming kids on PS3 when I used to have one too if anyone had a mic. I can make generalizations too.

Zone of the enders 3 phantasy star v Lunar 3 shining force 4 Killer instinct 3 eternal darkness 2 just off the top of my head, im sure there are more. The most important one that I would trade all four of my kids for though is Shenmue 3.

Right, because all online game communities don't have their share of **** and idiots. That's an Xbox live exclusive issue.

So....have any of the people bashing halo 4s length actually played it? Got any proof that you have? All im seeing is nonsense from people who have most likely not played halo 4 or maybe even a halo game in general. Length is fine. I clocked in around fifteen hours legendary solo on my first playthrough. Long enough for a fps game.

Silent Hill 2/2X and Eternal Darkness. Out of all of the survival horror games, these two were the best.

There's no particular Gen I can't stand but I would say 3d games on the 32-bit systems, like PSX and Saturn, were hideous. 2d games were beautiful, but 3d games looked like ass.
