I'm planning on buying/building a new gaming PC, just want to clear a few things. Please:

1) Is DDR3 significantly better than DDRII? Is it worth buying?

2) Intel or AMD(bang for buck wise)?

3) What is the norm for RAM in size(4gb, 8gb etc)(no worries I have Windows Vista 64-bit)?

4) When a motherboard spec's is: ie.

Jetway 790GX Socket AM2,SND,LAN •Compatible with AMD Phenom FX, Athlon 64 X2 processors,64-bit DualCore 240-pin DIMM Sockets for unbuffered Dual DDR2 800 SDRAM up to 8GB
2 * 32-bit PCI Slots / 2 * PCI EXPRESS x16 Slot 2 * PCI EXPRESS X 1 Slot
2 * Ultra DMA 133 / 100 / 66 IDE Devices Support , 4*SATA2, RAID 0, 1Functions
ALC888 8-Channel HD Audio.INTEGRATED RT81111C Lan.
4* High Speed USB Connectors, ATX Form Factor,DDR2-800

Does the 8GBmean 8GB per slot max or 8GB total(for all the slots put together)?

5) Is there a easy way to import the components for overseas to South Africa(otherwise i have to buy at American Price * 2.5 even if I buy from the main distributors)?

Thank You

Which is better, a 256mb 7300gs or a 6600gt

My brother is willing to give me 7300gs 256mb, which he can get for free, if i give him my 6600gt 128mb so he can use SLI, since he allready owns a 6600gt.

I cant find any benchmarks on the internet comparing the 6600gt 128mb with the 7300 256mb, not even on Tom's Hardware or Anatech....

Should i accept his offer, or will i be losing on this deal?

I wish to copy Windows XP Home edition, and the rest of the content of the harddrive, straight from one harddrive to another, bigger harddrive, and the new drive must be bootable etc.

The reason for this is i fixed a full-time student at an art academy's PC, but the harddrive had to be replaced urgently so i lent him mine, and i wish to get my harddrive back. I have already bought a replacement.

Do i just plug both drives in and copy, or do i need special programs for this? Is it even possible?

Me and some friends made a movie for school purposes. The filming is finished, and the job of editing was handed over to me. i'm in quite some hurry to finish this thing by tomorow(it now is 7:40 local time)

The editing has been done, with windows movie maker in Vista, and the movie plays back perfectly in Windows Movie Maker, but when i publish the movie(aka convert it to AVI or some other format, or put it on DVD), the music i inserted continues for too long(it doesn't start late), spoiling the talking scenes in the movie.

I've tried publishing it in different formats, and it still doesn't work.  Screen capturing programs are low quality and only support low frame rates, or doesn't support sound neither. FRAPS also doens't seem to work on my PC.

Any solutions on how to fix this problem would be appriciated
