Well I hope that everybody had a great Christmas this year, as I know I did. After opening gifts, which I happened to get more of than was really necessary, my brother and I went to stay with my grandparents who live about an hour and a half away, which was nice, though it kept me from enjoyingsaid gifts for a couple of days lol. We also attended their chruch service with them which was a treat because my parents don't happen to attend church services regurlarly (that is, not at all), and because my grandfather gave the sermon.
Anywho, what I'm sure people are at least slightlymore interested in would be my gifts that I received. So, here we go:
Tron: Evolution
So far it's very fun. I've played more of the multiplayer than the story, and it's a blast. The larger maps are better, because they feature lightcycles, light-tanks, and light-disc combat all at once and interchangable. The smaller maps are a bit lamer, featuring repetitive disc combat only, with a slight bit more of platforming. But regardless it's all fun, the graphics are great, and the gameplay is "so far, so good". My biggest complaint is that multiplayer is a bit unbalanced...higher-leveled players have access to ridiculously powerful combos and health, leaving you pretty much screwed if you have to take them on by yourself in disc combat.
Mirror's Edge
Haven't tried it yet because of Tron taking up my time tonight, but I'm looking forward to ME very much. I always wanted a game from a first-person perspective that wasn't focused on shooting, and as a PS3 owner, Mirror's Edge is about as good as it gets in my opinion. There also is Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, but eh...it's not for me.
Batman: The Animated Series Complete Collection
Oh yes, that's right...I got me my Batman. ;) All the way from Hong Kong as well, because my parents couldn't find a set as cheap here in the states, lol. I made sure that it's Region-1 though, and I'm looking forward to starting from the beginning and enjoying all 2,379 minutes.
My other gifts included $75 worth of Gamestop gift cards, a $50 PSN card, and aDark Knight poster (http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/111/f/AAAAAsswnp8AAAAAARH6QQ.jpg?v=1214095268000). Other stuff as well, but it's not relevant.
Before I wrap up the blog here, I want to let everybody know that my book, in first draft format, has been uploaded to Google Docs and onto the internet. If you wish to view it, simply head over to The Writers Lounge Union here at Gamespot, find the topic titled "Shadows of Bara (short fiction)", and scroll down in it until you see the easy-click links to each individual chapter. Each chapter is about 15 minutes in length, and there are numerous grammar, punctuation, and possibly spelling errors in all of them because the book is largely unedited. But for the most part it's an easy read and I'm proud to have written it and shared it with everyone.
I want to wish everybody a Happy New Year. inFamous 2, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Batman: Arkham City...man, PS3 owners have a lot to look forward to. Take care, and God bless you all.
