Do you have Windows Media Centre and a compatible remote contoller with it? (since you have an HTPC, i hope so!) You can set games to run there.flipin_jackass
I use Boxee and XBMC for my media. But I do have Windows Media Center on my HTPC. That's a pretty awesome idea, I'll try that and see how it goes. Thanks!

@Dyson & Asylum, I use xpadder already, but I was thinking of having more of an interface that would be easy to navigate, like it would be in console gaming. Most of the games I'm playing, I play with the 360 controller and not a keyboard/mouse. Which works great since this PC is connected to the living room TV. I'm a .Net developer, and I'm currently writing the interface. I've got to work a bit more on it, and I'll post a link to the software (if anyone's interested) along with pics and maybe video. Thanks! Alex

Perhaps map the controller to control Steam? I have no idea how that would be done, but it'd be 10x easier then writing a new program.majoras_wrath
I wanted more of a 10 foot interface, I would still have to start Steam, take it to the Games tab, etc, etc... It'd be 10x easier, but 0x as fun. Hehe... I'll work on it more this weekend and post some screenshots. Thanks!

I posted this in the General Discussions and got sent here. I hope this is not too off topic. I have an HTPC connected to my TV (duh...) and I decided to add a video card to help with some playback issues I was having. I went for a 4890 that I got cheap at BestBuy (from all places...). And I copied over my games from my gaming rig to the HTPC. Long story short, I'm retiring my 360 and my HTPC is taking over as a gaming console too, with 4 360 controllers connected to it . The only problem I encountered was that I found myself having to reach for my mouse every time I wanted to play new game. I promptly fired up Google and started searching for a game launcher and couldn't really find anything of the like. So, I decided to write my own. I'm writing a simple game launcher that would work as dashboard with all the games you have on your computer and allow you to run them, the interface would come back once you're done with the current game, allowing the user to select another game. The interface can be accessed by a combination of keys on the game controller. First thing I want to know from you good people is: Is there anything out there that does what I just described? Second thing: I need help with graphics, fonts, and all the artsy stuff I suck so bad at. Anyone? TIA
