@Skull-Fire The Boss wasn't really a villain though. Great character though And Big Boss was a villain for most of the time we knew him, but in the prequels and in his final moments he seemed like a great guy, so I don't know if you can or can't call him a villain, especially since he's been a hero for quite a few games

I reckon a villain needs to be sympathetically human while still a irrevocably evil, eg. Sephiroth, or completely and utterly evil and knows it, eg. Kefka

I kinda disagree with the final fantasy bashing. Saying it's the same story every time is a little odd, since all stories with a hero supposedly follow a pattern (the hero's journey). Also, I reckon Half Life 2 brought out other emotions in me. I felt distressed in episode 2 when Alyx was attacked, and you get a bit sad at the bleakness of city 17 and the oppressive rule of the combine. But there are things to improve in the ways games tell stories to be sure, but some games just need to be fun, like Left 4 Dead and Guitar Hero

I really like steam's system. If you've typed in a correct password before, then you don't often need to be online to play most games anyway. And it still insures against piracy

The wii sucks hardware wise, but it brought something new to the market, which is what companies need to do. Go and improve graphics, but gameplay is still necessary. We aren't the same gamers who played space invaders 20 years ago

I reckong both console have their strengths, but I personally prefer the PS3 for the games exclusively released for it. Most of the games I would want on the 360 go to pc in a year or two. And some of the best looking games are the final fantasy games and they are almost entirely playstaion exclusive anf suffer little lag though sometimes long loading screens

The PS3 exclusive games seem to have greater detail than 360-exclusive games, but multiplatform the PS3 always loses it seems. Just a guess, and don't jump at me if I'm wrong, but the multiplatform games might be designed for the 360 first, which could explain why they are better looking than the ps3 counter-parts
