It can help with varied environments, better sound, more textures (not reusing chars etc). Go look at killzone 2, it rivals pc's bestamericahellyeah
Killzone 2 can't rival Crysis running on a 6000 dollar computer, but for a 400 dollar console it comes pretty dam close! :D
E8400/8800GT(or a 8800GTS (512)) can run Crysis on very high
E8400 - $200
8800GT 512 - $200-250 (8800GTS 512=280-290)
P35 mobo - $90
What about RAM, a sound card, network card, case, power supply, windows xp/vista, hard drive(s) and probably an extra fan?
edit: Oh and how about a processor?
I said under $1000, that adds up to half that, the other half is obviously for RAM/PSU/CASE/FAN/HDD/etc
And I did have a processor in there... see the E8400?
mother boards have built in network cards and sound cards, ram is 200 for 4gb, power supplies can come with a case for about 100, 500 gb hard drive is 100 dollars, dvd burner is about 25, xpvista oem can come as cheap as 50
so 475 for all the missing stuff
so a top of the line pc is only about a grand before tax and u will be able to run crysis on high ... if u go to about 130 u can run it on ultra
but to be honest ff13 has cgi like graphics which crysis on ultra does although crysis goes for a more realistic look and ff13 has a slightly more anime look
yes you can get all that stuff for about the prices you "claim" and a top of the line PC is very far beyond a grand. the PC you're talking about is average at best.
i just had to quote this again mwhahaha
