I want my LIVE back!!

Microsoft, what the hell is the deal? You can't pull off a background update without totally ruining everyone's experience online for the next week? I hate to see what happens when they attempt to implement the real fall update. If it's anything close to the sorry state LIVE is in now, I want a month of Gold, FOR FREE. god dammit

Fallout 3- Can't come soon enough..

So i just read this, and needless to say, Gamespot has got me pumped for Fallout 3. I never played the first two, but a close friend of mine vouches for Fallout 2, and if it's Oblivion with better dialogue and more exciting combat, sign me up.

Not to mention the fact that it's in an entirely new setting for a free-roaming RPG. Post-apocalyptic D.C. could not be more original or a better fit for what Bethesda is trying to accomplish with this game. It's coming out at a perfect time, when the longboard is collecting dust in the dorm room during the winter months, Fallout 3 will be my new escape.

I'm hoping the combat system holds up, if it's anything close to what Gamespot has described in previous previews, there should be nothing to worry about. I'm curious to see how deep the injury system will be and whether you can truly change the world landscape, i.e. leaving the atom bomb active in Megaton and later destroying the small city.

To close, keep up the good work Gamespot, it's original material like that that keeps me coming to this site everyday. And to everyone else counting down the days, I share your pain.

Love for Video Games.. renewed!

Wow, I almost forgot about good old Gamespot. I just got to college, so my Internet browsing and lounging time for games and such has gone way way up, much to my surprise. School and friends keep me busy during the day, but I'm just a night owl these days, nothing like high school. As you can see from the post date of this entry, 2:00 am is merely late afternoon these days. Anyways, thanks to all this free time and the fact that my major is New Media, games have been on my mind a lot lately. I've been playing through DMC4 and Overlord, two 360 games I've had for some time, but never got around to completing. These playthroughs, especially after having lessons oriented towards analyzing interactivity and design, are opening my eyes to all sorts of good and bad things about games. Controls and the ability to customize them to your liking is of utmost importance to me and never was before. I don't feel right starting a game unless I check out and tweak every available option. Also, voice acting in games really needs to be improved. In my opinion, if a game puts a lot of weight into it's story, there should be a team working solely on lip-syncing the entire script, otherwise you might as well tell the story through subtitles a la Zelda. Well, that's all I got for ya today. I'll be cruising the site a lot more though, so this is only the beginning. Let's see if I can't get a spot on the coveted Soapbox!

First Blog Post

Well, here we go my first ever blog post. It seems I'm a little late to the Internet blog party.

I can't say it feels like anything special to finally start a blog, and so yup thats about it. I'll be posting on from time to time and probably will be in the forums a bit more now. Let's see... I got 9 days off school coming up so I'll most likely make some kind(s) of gaming purchase in those times and I'll be sure to let you all know what it/they will be.

Ok, thats over I'll get back to you in a few days.
