I'm having a really strange issue with Steam. I own more than 100 titles on Steam, but nothing related to Half-Life 1. I did own the original Half-Life and its expansions Opposing Force and Blue Shift on retail CDs, which I had purchased at the time of release. There was no Steam at that time. After Steam was launched, I never bothered to activate these three games on Steam, but I did buy the Orange Box, so Half-Life 2 and its related games were present in my Steam Library. Today, I had to reinstall Windows OS due to some issues, and Ii also reinstalled Steam. Then, to my disbelief, I found that all single player and multi player games related to Half-Life 1 (Half-Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, Day of Defeat, Counter Strike and Ricochet) were seen in my Steam library. I thought it might be a mistake, so I tried downloading them. I realized that I was able to download and even play each one of these games. I really can't understand what happened, because I had never registered these games on Steam, although I owned the retail discs. Since Valve has this reputation of banning users according to its whims and fancies, I'm scared that they might accuse me of 'stealing' those games and ban me. If I'm banned, I'll be losing my entire collection of over 100 games. Please help me out. Thank you.
