@wwmcfar - What about the first two Max Payne games ? They barely had any depth in gameplay and they were developed by Remedy and they were praised by everyone including GameSpot . Besides , there are so many other aspects of a game that need to be considered such as story , multiplayer etc . Why don't you and @Runock get your facts straightened out .
@Joeguy00 - I disagree . IGN's video review was well - flushed out . From what I've read , most if not all of these sites seem to provide an adequate amount of insight as to why they give the score that they give .
@Joeguy00 - So ? Eurogamer isn't the only one out there reviewing games , you know . Besides , Eurogamer Italy gave the game a 9 . Not everyone can share the same opinion as the other reviewer .
@chris_moody22 - So you're saying that a proper narrative that focuses on the character as a human being is a " tiny change " ? Don't get me wrong , but if there's one thing that video games , in particular shooters ( regardless of whether it's an FPS or a TPS ) , lack it's a proper narrative . Devs choose to portray the characters as heartless killing machines rather than real , genuine characters . Few games take that risk , and Max Payne 3 is one of them . R* aren't the greatest when it comes to stories or story-telling , but they're still one of the more proficient story-tellers in mainstream gaming and they've looked to bring their creative flair to Max Payne 3 , and from what I've read , they've succeeded in more ways than one .
@chris_moody22 - What's different is the setting , the emphasis on Max as a character which hadn't been seen in previous installments . Besides , most people wanted the same old Max back , so why complain ?
@ozzyRENFREW - Because it's cool . Plus , it offers a gripping narrative and some promising multiplayer . That's enough of an incentive to keep you coming back for more .
