I wonder whether Nintendo couldn't source the faster chips, but were holding out to see whether could. Hence the weeks of hype, then lack of announcement, before E3 - followed by a surprise drop only a few weeks later.

This Switch is not for me. I don't think it's for anyone who already has one. And lots of people do.

@armos: All this is known and understood, but I believe that an iterative upgrade on the Switch will eventually come.

@Spartan_418: Personally, I hope it can run docked 1080p without conspicuous slowdown and/or dynamic resolution. We'll worry about 4K in 2025...
