I completely agree with you. It bugs me how silver members get locked out of the downloadable stuff. I too don't play much multiplayer and therefore can't justify a gold account. Thankfully, I have a 48 hour free Gold coupon that I got with Gears 2 that I am yet to redeem, so I will probably activate that and then download the demo.
